Are there any popular songs about bisexuals and/or pansexuals?

Lou Reed: Walk on the Wild Side.

Lyrics here.

“Bad at Love” by Halsey. The singer discusses a different ex-lover in each verse (2 male, 1 female)

“Thank God You Introduced Me to Your Sister” by Sarah Barrios has more than 7 million views on YouTube. It’s kind of a bop!

Another great song, but I thought they were gay, not bi.

I used to think that Wheatus’s “Teenage Dirtbag” was about a girl who falls in love with a bisexual girl… but then I found out that the singer was male, and it was just a bog-standard love triangle.

Fortunately, Phoebe Bridger later covered the song, and that cover belongs in this threat.

Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch Me, aka, Creatures of the Night, from Rocky Horror. At least, in the movie version, we see Janet having fantasies with everybody, male and female.

“Pretty Persuasion” by R.E.M. may be.

I read in some biography that it was a simple mistake, but that Paul had insisted on so many re-takes earlier that day, that the rest of the exhausted band refused to record it yet again.

That made me think of Aerosmith’s “Dude Looks Like A Lady.”

p.s. I’ve long heard of Crack the Sky and that they were one of those bands that should have made it big in the 1970s but didn’t.

Screwed over by their record company and never regained their momentum. HUGE in Pittsburgh, HUGE in Baltimore, the end.

I was going to mention this one but you and two others beat me to the punch. A remember listening to an interview on NPR with Jill Sobule where she discussed Katy Perry’s song of the same name. Sobule viwed Perry’s song as written by committee, cynically grabbing the attention of the audience via titillation rather than having any emotional center. It’s hard to look at Perry’s version as anything other than queerbaiting.

Ray Stevens - “Since Bubba Changed His Name To Charlene”

(Yes, it’s that guy from the 70s, still ambulatory in his twilight years, giving his take on trans athletes competing with/as women, and yes, it’s exactly as you would imagine it to be.)

Jim Stafford — My Girl Bill

No, wait, it isn’t. Fooled me, too.

Jim Stafford — My Girl Bill

Ha, ha, fooled you.

I have a weakness for crappy novelty songs from the 70s, and this is certainly one of them. You know all those songs from the late 60s/early 70s that were obvious dog whistles for drug use, but the artists swore up and down that they were nothing of the sort? "Me son Julian drew this picture for 'is kindergarten class and called it ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.’ " Yeah, “My Girl Bill” is the. gender sensitivity version of that.

Not in that song, though.

Then if anything grows
While you pose
I’ll oil you up and rub you down

A better song example from RH is “Rose Tint My World” where it’s Brad saying this about Rocky:

What this, let’s see
I feel sexy
What’s come over me?
Woo! Here it comes again

Unlike the dudes in Walk on the Wild Side Dr. Frank-n-Furter in Earth terms is actually bisexual. (Although, given that he’s an alien, it’s all technically bestiality.) He’s shown in the movie having sex with both Brad and Janet, but I don’t think he ever says anything in a song. His only statement is that he’s a transvestite.

You know the term “LGBTQ+”? Frank-n-Furter is the “+”.

Not at the end of the movie. Then he’s a -.

What do you think bisexual means?

Sexually attracted to both sexes. “Pansexual” is a bit vaguer, though.

And the example you cited was bisexual how exactly?
