Now, most of the Lifetime and Hallmark movies are pretty… simplistic and cliche, to say the least. Do you remember watching any (relatively recent) Lifetime or Hallmark movies that you’d say were decent, or at least OK? (Not in “so bad it’s good way”.)
Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance, was surprisingly good. I thought the acting, particularly by the leads, was above the quality of the usual Lifetime movie, and the story was quite moving. The movie deals directly with the impact of Diana’s death on Harry and the racism toward Meghan.
You can’t go into it expecting a documentary about the royal couple. Just approach it as an interesting romance between two people from widely divergent backgrounds, and it holds up well.
Confession: I have already watched it twice, and enjoyed it both times.
