Hi,
I actually feel some form of shame asking this question, but it has to be asked.
Basically I dug my own grave when I did the engagement ring picking for my wife 6 years ago. At the time it was something far beyond her wildest expectations. I went with a corkscrew type design aka “tension mounted” platinum engagement ring by Claude Thibaudeau.
At the time I just thought the ring was the coolest and th-at was what I was going to adorn my wife’s finger with. The problem came later when the uniqueness of this ring style created a problem with a conventional ring ( the wedding band). The obvious solution of course is to buy the companion ring that mates to the engagement ring.
So I am at the phase where I’m looking into actually going forward with this, but original jewelry store makes it very easy for you to work through them to get what you need and not so easy to do things any other way.
My question in the broad sense is “how does this process work?” -that is, buying through jewelry stores. How much do they get?
I realize only select jewelry stores carry a certain designer, but it’s good deal of money I’m being asked for to make it all right for my wife. Please understand I will pay the amount I’m asked if this is how it works, but don’t wise people get a second opinion on matters of large expense?
In other words, I’m working on checking through other jewelry stores that are Claude Thibaudeau retailers, but should I expect any other price than what I’ve been asked from the first quote?
Is it possible to get a limited designer name piece of jewelry like this for less money via some other method- which brings me back to my title … is there such things a jewelry price loopholes?
