Are there numbers that pop up everywhere?

I keep coming across the number 5005. No idea why. I just go with it.

Yes, because you’re looking for it, consciously and subconsciously.

Anyway, everybody knows that 5 is no longer talking to 8 ever since that incident with 9.

But I always thought it was seven that eight nine.

Oh my God! I was born in '58.

<hijack> Did anybody get to write the date 01/01/01? I didn’t write a check or go to work, so I missed out. Next year we can write 02/02/02. Cool. And the year after that…
<end hijack>

Yep, my rent check was dated 01/01/01. It also had FAR too many numbers in it for the ratty “ask us about our hourly rates” apartment I live in.

As for the op:
Nifty (and true) formula:

e^(pi*i)+1=0

Uses five of the “really weird numbers:” e, pi, i, 1, 0.

2+3=5
1+7=8
5*8=40
23+17=40

Think about it…

Well I live in no.76
I was born on the 3rd
I’m 30
It’s 8pm
on the 9th
and the year is 2001

now tell me there isn’t a God.

Well, I’ve memorized all the powers of two up to the sixteenth.

So, uhh. Yeah.

Okay. That proves my point! I came in here to say 37. My ex-bf has a friend who had a portion of his (now defunct) website devoted to 37.

It’s freakin’ everywhere. He cited a bunch of movies where 37 is the number of choice and I am always noticing it popping up. In fact, it is the age of the woman the ex is now “dating.” How’s that?

I worked from New Year’s Eve through New Year’s Day, and managed to log in from one of my rounds at 01:01:01 01/01/01!

1 is a really weird number? e, pi, i, 0, all have some odd properties, but, 1?

I see 311 popping up a lot. It’s the time I usually first look at the clock when I get home from school, and that really weirds me out.

Definitely. 37 is one of those numbers people think up when trying to come up with a sufficiently “random” number. Think of David Blaine’s trick where he tells someone to think of a two digit number where both digits are odd and not the same number. Ask someone this and they will come up with 37 about 80% of the time or so.

When I used to play the daily numbers, I would choose 538. It seemed like every time I went to the store, the bill would be $5.38, or when I looked at the clock, it would be 5:38. I don’t play the numbers anymore, and I don’t see that number either.

I take it, you didn’t win unusually often.

Well, I’ll be the only serious poster to this thread.

With me it’s eleven.

11’s are everywhere.
