On “Talk To Me” by Joni Mitchell, from Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter, Jaco Pastorius plays the bass. But after listening to it a million times I can’t tell if there are one or two separate bass tracks. It’s conceivable to me that Jaco could have played the high and low parts both at the same times, but there are points in the bass line where it really distinctly sounds like two overlapped bass lines. So which is it? Does anyone here know?
