Are there online broadcasts or "ticker tape"s of tonight's game?

So tonight, my beloved Red Wings go against the Hurricanes for what I think is probably gonna be a whiz-bang game (anyone who thinks it’s going to be a cake-walk for the Wings should take a look at how the 'Canes have been playing and what they have to prove).

But the unnamed ‘they’ have the audacity to have the first (and second) games during the time I have class! The nerve! I have my laptop and wireless Internet connection, though. I’ve seen numerous places that offer online radio coverage of the game. But I really can’t have headphones on during a lecture.

I’m looking for a website that either has a visual broadcast of the game, or has a “ticker tape” like update thing, that keeps running with important information (goals, penalties, etc) that I can read. I need something to watch/read instead of listen to. I need to go to the class and pay attention most of the time; I just want to be able to check up at slow points during the class.

Are there any such websites out there?
(Oh, and mods: I wasn’t sure whether or not to put this in GQ or MPSIMS; but since there seems there’d be a definite answer, I’m hoping this is the right spot).

Try http://alerts.yahoo.com

But I think the best that will do is give you an update on goals.

ESPN.com runs a game log, but I don’t know if they do that through a wireless browser.

Thanks for the link, but it looks like it only sends alerts to a phone or pager. (unless, of course, I’m being a doofus and misreading everything).

And a wireless connection makes no difference; it’s not a wireless browser, it’s a wireless network card for my laptop, so basically i can surf online without needing to plug in.

GodDAMN, now that’s what I call a multi-post.

Sorry about that, Chief.

OK, but I’m only telling you once.

If you go to ESPN.com and click on “Scores” under NHL, you should get the option to bring up the “Game Log” for the Canes-Wings game. You can set it to update every 30-60-90 seconds. You will get updates like “Carolina - Brind’Amour wins faceoff”
“Detroit - Shot on goal by Federov”
With the appropriate time of the event.

That’s what I follow when I’m at work. It’s inobtrusive.

Oooh, thanks! Is the “game log” only available after the game is started? I don’t see anything called “game log”, but I do see a button that says “Alert”, and when I click on it, it gives a popup window that says: “Wireless Game Alerts
Sign in to access ESPN.com’s Insider exclusive game alerts. If you’re not a member Register Now for a free 30-day trial membership”

Is this the link you were talking about?

Okay, let it be known that BobT is THE man! Thank you SO much! I love this GameLog, it’s a lot better than Yahoo’s sports “updater”.

THANK YOU!

My skill at finding such websites in order to pretend that I’m really working is a skill that I really should put to use for good, instead of evil.
