Are these Bills worth anything?

I have had these bills for quite awhile and I am curious if they are worth more than face value. One is a 1993 $1 bill, but as the picture shows, it was originally cut wrong with extra paper attached on one side, and the ink stops short. It is in great shape.

The other is a Citizen’s Bank of Louisiana Five dollar note. The only reference to a date is on the bottom and staes,“Patented 30 June 1857.”

Has anyone out there ever seen bills similar to these before?
Hopefully my links below work correctly. This is my first time to link to another page. Thanks

Dollar Bill

Citizens Bank Five Dollar Bill

Your $5 note from Citizen’s Bank in Lousiana appears to be worth between $10 and $25.

Pretty cool.

It’s hard to say what the actual value of your mis-cut $1 bill would be, but here’s one on e-bay that’s currently at $57.98 and the reserve isn’t met. Go figure! I’d’ve otherwise suggested that it’s worth $1 and if you take it to any bank they’d exchange it for a new one and send the bad one back to the Federal Reserve to be destroyed. Learn something new every day.

Ok, I’m beginning to wish we could edit our posts, so I didn’t have to make 3 posts in a row, but I keep finding interesting stuff…

Here’s a bill that looks like it’s mis-cut exactly like yours is, but the back of another $1 bill got printed on the extra flap, although the back is blank, like yours. It’s listed for $149.99 (though no one has bid on it, so obviously that’s a bit overpriced, but still!).

There are currently 275 bills with printing & cutting errors for sale at e-bay. Check it out.

I just had to chime in and say I have a 2001 Blackbook Price Guide to United States Paper Money the darn thing only goes back to 1861. The one time I could have used it and it’s no help. :frowning:

Bret–your links don’t work for me.

Assuming your Citizens Bank note is original and not a reprint, it is almost certainly a remainder, and not signed. That has little to do with the value. We sell them for $15-25 in our coin store. A common, but popular item. They even come in uncut sheets.

Your error note, without seeing it, is probably worth about what shayna found the first time. They make lots of errors in the last 20 years or so. NOt easy to sell, unless the error is MORE dramatic.

The title had me thinking that the thread pertained to a certain professional sports team from Buffalo. I had prepared a definite one-word answer, but I find it isn’t relevant.
