Are these two rock legends incorrect???

The two in particular I’m thinking of:

RICKY NELSON – The story behind “Garden Party” is that he was booed at Madison Square Garden at a “teen idols” concert for daring to allow himself to change with the times and perform some new songs along with the oldies. However, another story is that the booing wasn’t addressed at him, but at MSG staff for interfering with part of the crowd.

DYLAN AT NEWPORT – The usual story is that Dylan was booed for going electric. However, a different story I heard is that the boos were not because of Dylan but because apparently the sound mix was terrible and they couldn’t hear him.

Do we have any definitive evidence for either versions of either story??

Al Kooper, who played with Dylan at Newport in 1965, claims that Dylan wasn’t booed at all.

I’ve heard both stories and both alternative explanations. I think the true answer is that there are any number of reasons a group of audience members will start booing during a concert, ranging from a bad performance on stage to an usher getting into an argument with a kid trying to sneak beer into the concert, and everyone there will come up with their own reason why it happened.
