Truffles are said (by gourmets) to add an incredibly intense flavor to foods. But the dams things are so expensive. A while back, i bough to truffle-infused olive oil. I didn’t notice nany big difference. So, are they worth it? And , how do you buy these things (in the USA)-fresh, dried, or canned?
You need to distinguish between black truffles and white truffles. One is much more potent (and rarer) than the other.
I’ve also heard that the smell of truffle affects people in different ways - some hate it, some go “meh”, and some people have an orgasm.
It may be a genetic thing as to why there’s this difference, and is why some people just don’t “get” truffles.
