I’ve noticed recently that in several cartoon shows that have famous actor cameo voices the credits are cut due to time. Doesn’t this violate SAG rules or some other rules?
BTW I’m not sure who was in the last Treehouse of Horror because of the pun names. :o
Why would a TV station be bound by SAG rules? They aren’t laws. All the stations are bound by is contracts with whoever is currently distributing the shows they’re running, and (if they’re over the air) FCC regulations.
I think what furryman is referencing is the fact that a lot of those contracts are very specific about the credits being run, in their entirety, after every broadcast. Stations can half-screen them, speed them up, but they can’t omit them. I have no idea how derivative those rules are, or who would pay the fines (if any) for a violation.
What does the ‘famous actor cameo’ have to do with anything?
If the show is one where the regulars aren’t protected, the ‘famous actor’ would be violating rules by being in it (and credited under their own name).
