Are we going to see Vice President Condi Rice . . . real soon?

Give me 10:1 odds on Bush and I’ll risk another quarter. Most likely outcome is we break even anyway.

Well, you went 10000:1 against Rove being indicted for treason (against my double-sawbuck).

I’d say the odds are still high in this case, but less astronomical. 100:1 ?

…against a similar sized wager to the last one, btw.

Turning on the Clintons hasn’t hurt Dick Morris’s career.

If you’re curious, turn on the 700 Club. Black and/or female is not at all uncommon.

**Giuliani ** would be great on the ticket, but before you can elected you have to win the primary.

What we need is a huge grass roots movement to Register republican and take the party back from the scary, creepy and evil religious right. They are the crooks and the busy bodies what a union of evil. They will impose their will on all of us. They are anti-environment, anti-science, anti-rights and anti-free speech.
…The Dem’s proved there incompetence by nominated Kerry. Until they can produce a real candidate than can run a political campaign and appeal to independents, we are better off trying to take the Republican party back.

Of course I don’t personally have any strong feelings on this.

If Cheney resigns and Condi is nominated (or Colin Powell, for that matter), I give it approximately three minutes after Bush first shows his face following the confirmation until somebody plugs him.

Chris Rock once said something about why a black man or a woman will never be a Vice President before one is a President. It was essentially what I said above but was much funnier.

Sure didn’t help Al Gore.

I thought about this too. Bush needs insurance. Michael Brown?

Rumor has it that the grand jury is still meeting, and plans to continue wednesday and thursday, so we’ll likely not get an anouncement before friday at the earliest.

Until a couple of minutes ago, I kept reading that we might get something tomorrow. I guess not.

Well, I’m going to bet that pro-choice is pretty damn uncommon. That certainly won’t get the evangelicals out to the polls.

Yeah, I like the joke better this way.

Bob, and anyone else sharing your views about the near-certainty of an indictment against Cheney . . . what on earth are you smoking? 'Cos it clearly beats the fuck out of my homegrown.

One rumor being tossed around on Hardball is that an insider at the White House has ratted the scoundrels out – a parallel to Watergate’s John Dean, so to speak.

If the Vice President is indicted, I really can’t imagine his not resigning. It would be very bad for the GOP, for the Office of the Vice Presidency, and for the Bush Administration for him to remain in that office while under criminal indictment. I doubt that he would use his health as an excuse. This would not be a good time for him to appear disingenuous.

Some say that if indicted, Libby and Rove may try to keep their staff positions and take paid leaves of absence. I wonder if that is what Bush had in mind when he said that those who leaked would be handled “appropriately.”

Legal scholars disagree on this one, but I’m glad to see that you’ve come around.

If you really want to track rumors, start tracking the current pool of candidates who might be indicted as well as the poll of candidates who might be called to fill their shoes. Politicians are very good at saying nothing while saying everything else. However, if you track their physical comings and goings you might raise the odds and win your bet by tracking the principals’ movements.

How about never married? Rice is in her 50s and has never been married and isn’t involved with men. There are all ready rumours of lesbianism (which I find ridiculous). If she’s nominated for higher office they’ll get alot worse. We’ve only had one never-married President (James Buchanan) and the same rumours were raised about him.

Pizza Index, anyone?

Buchanan was a lesbian? Awesome. </cheap shot>

“You ain’t never gonna see no black Vice President. Not while the President is white. You know why? 'Cause some black guy would kill the President, that’s why. Shit, I’d do it. If we got a black Vice President right now, I couldn’t wait to kill the President. What are they gonna do? Put me in jail with a bunch of black guys that will treat me like a hero for the rest of my life? Shit, even if they had the death penalty, what would happen? I’ll get pardoned by the black President!” - Chris Rock
