Here in the wilds of Eastern Tennessee, the elderberries are ripe.
You can’t find them in the supermarkets or even in the many roadside produce stands.
And, not withstanding the inevitable Monty Python quips [SIZE=“1”](I can see you standing in the shadows)[/SIZE], elderberries can be used in wonderful jams and wines.
I just tried some wild blackberries, in the woods near my home. Sour and large seeds. I think I’ll stick with farm-grown.
