Are you a morning or evening person?

Person Who Does Not Sleep Every 24-Hour Period. Which translates to most, I suppose, as “night person”. It’s a pretty safe bet that I’ll be awake at 3:00-4:00 am on any given day (it’s 4:23 AM right now, for example), but on one day out of about ten, it’ll be because I actually went to bed at 9:00 PM and woke up at 2:00. There’s usually at least one full “weekday” on which I do not sleep at all. I’ve always worked like that, even in the military (a 48-hour sleep cycle is hard, but I adapt to it a hell of a lot better than a 24-hour one).

We moved a lot when I was a kid. The location of my room in our various dwellings varied. One of my rooms didn’t actually have a functional window – it was either made of, or covered in, plywood. If these two bits of data are indeed interrelated, that probably explains a lot.

Ah well, bang goes that theory! I’ve talked to a number of people at work and there seemed to be a correlation between being a morning or evening person and which way your bedroom faced as a child.

Unfortunately I’m BOTH a morning and a late night person. This doesn’t leave much room for sleep. :frowning:

Night person. I can get up early in the morning when I have to, if I give myself enough time and caffeine, but if I don’t have to, I won’t.

I obey the laws of physics: a body in motion tends to remain in motion; a body at rest tends to remain at rest.

And FWIW, my bedrooms faced east.

I’m more of an evening person. Growing up, my window was facing South, but had very little light coming in at any time of the day. Probably the most light was at noon. Anyway, all through school, I had to be up and out before dawn, so it really didn’t matter.
