So is there a chart listing opposite races somewhere on the net? I mean I can kinda guess maybe white and black are supposed to be opposites, but where do all the rest come out? And if you were to date someone from a race that wasn’t your mirror opposite but rather was kitty-corner to your own, would that merit the quirking of one eyebrow from dear old dad, instead of both?

I think the use of the term “opposite” race is an indication that in the mind of the speaker, the only race that counts is “white,” because everything else is opposite.

Someone else linked a study, but let’s ignore that. You’re (sorta?) saying being exposed to other races makes you more racist (a claim I see on a lot of racist sites btw). So being further away from them makes you less racist. Which basically means they’re hypocrites who don’t practice what they (might) preach. Like politicians who say how great public schools are and then send their kids to private schools.
The list was a little trollish, since it’s way more likely to apply to a lot of the people posting here, and supposedly egalitarian libs in general. Oh, you’re not racist? Do you live with minorities? Sleep with them? Send your kids to minority schools? Claiming to be enlightened but living hundreds of miles from the nearest black person doesn’t mean you’re racist, but it’s a little eye brow raising.

Pseudoscientists have been making claims about racial intelligence and inferiority since before the advent of genetics. We don’t need to conduct extensive studies to debunk crap that isn’t science in the first place. When someone claims that a new scientific discovery neatly confirms some old prejudice, we can be confident the discovery is garbage. Science progresses, but that doesn’t mean junk science doesn’t exist any more. It definitely does. It changes its trappings but it offers the same stuff: confirmation of what people already believe, huge generalizations, simplicity, permanence. This is stuff that demands skepticism. So if you were a smarter man, you’d understand that the horseshit you keep insisting is plausible is the same stuff people like Goddard were trotting out a century ago and today it’s generally understood that that stuff was very racist.

That’s racist enough for me. The idea isn’t just wrong, it’s nonsense: the idea that you can separate genes from all the other factors that affect intelligence in a much more direct way - culture, stress, health, nutrition, wealth - and make generalizations about an average of millions or billions of people is nuts, and that’s before you stop to consider the way people have been globetrotting and fucking for centuries. In my experience there are only two reasons people defend this non-science: to annoy liberals and to dump on black people (or both). If rich=safe, I’d be safer in white neighborhoods, but what does that prove, other than that racism exists and needs to be squashed, along with people like yourself?
I’ve felt safe and unsafe around both black and white people. When I’ve felt.unsafe around blacks, it was mostly.because I felt guilty about.my own racism. When I’ve felt unsafe around whites, it was because I felt their racism couldn’t be trusted.
I would feel safer walking through the neighborhood that looked better. Unlike you, I wouldn’t base “looked better” on the color of the skin of the people in it. I’d base it on how many street lights there were, whether it was a residential neighborhood, whether there were people out walking, etc.
