How did I do?

Stephen, Mathilda and Maud= no clear successor.
James II vs William and Mary= no clear succesor
Bonnie Prince Charlie=no clear successor.
Henry VIII= stealing the Church’s wealth

Charles I had sons (who later became Charles II and James II) so there most certainly were legitimate successors. The civil war wasn’t caused by that! Also, Charles although he had Catholic sympathies, was ostensibly Protestant. It was about Parliament and the King’s decision to dismiss it when it disagreed with him.

Thanks for pointing that out.
I’m terribly sorry - of course my spoiler answer to the first History question was wrong!

Here is the correction:

  1. History:

What was a main cause of the first English Civil War? (1642-1646):

a) The King tried to confiscate the property and wealth of the Church
b) Parliament challenged the King over policy, especially wars
c) There was no clear successor to the throne

b)
The others have happened in English history e.g. Stephen + Mathilda went at it in the 1100’s.
