Are you attracted to competitive bodybuilders?

I suppose the true hallmark of someone currently using only anabolic steroids for an extended period of time would be little nuts.

Of course, that person could get around that with hCG, and it would depend how far into a cycle that person was, but eventually I think the nuts atrophy without ancillaries.

There’s actually a really good video called “I want to look like that guy”, where pro bodybuilder/model Jeff Willett takes an ordinary guy and in a relatively short period of time gets the guy from being a pudgy couch potato to about 5’7 with 5% bodyfat and the guy competes in an amateur show.
The fascinating thing about it is the complete dedication to calorie/carb watchiing. Also Willett admits at the end… to look like a fitness model you have to feel like shit.

Absolutely. When the body senses that testosterone is being supplied from outside, it shuts down the natural production in the testes. Without these ancillaries, when one stops the anabolic drugs, they are left with tiny testicles and a body that has a very low natural testosterne level. This can very quickly erase any gains made by the steroids (and then some).

The ancillaries are not limited to hCG, however. The female fertility drug Clomid is used often as an estrogen inhibitor, as well as the breast cancer drug Novaldex, which acts as an estrogen blocker. These drugs are used to “kick start” the body’s natural testosterone production once the anabolic drugs are ceased.

Well yes, those are SERMs - I don’t think those help you regain your…um… ‘boys’ while you are on steroids. On cycle I would think they would be used to prevent excessive estrogen conversion. After you stop using steroids they would help, as you mention.

IMO, competitive bodybuilders’ physiques are a turn off. And outside of the gym, they wear ill fitting clothes because clothing manufacturers don’t routinely make clothes for someone with their dimensions.

No, I don’t think it’s so much that clothing manufacturers don’t make appropriate sizes for bodybuilder’s physiques’; rather I think that, as a whole, bodybuilders just have horrible tastes in fashion. There are even “bodybuilding lines” of clothing, which are so awful and cheesy and are all tighty, gaudy clothes meant to show off one’s body.

Yeah, on-cycle they are used to prevent man-boobs

You mean like zubas? (Seriously, is it just me, or do a LOT of body builders dress in zubas?)
shudder

I personally don’t like it especially when they over do it . It just looks so unnatural to me.

I’m sorry, I don’t know what zubas are.

Your life is better that way… ;-p

You asked for it

Best worn with a neon-colored muscle shirt, high top shoes and a mullet.

Ohhh, zebra pants! lol People don’t wear that shit now though, come on. :stuck_out_tongue: I haven’t seen that in like decades.

Mock the pants if you will, but that guy in the middle once deadlifted a platter of 1500 chicken wings at a Hooters in Reno.

*What *is going on in that picture on the shelf behind them?

Straight male who is very unattracted to female body builders. That lack of subcutaneous fat is just a big turn off. In fact, I prefer women to have, at most, very little visible muscle definition. (E.g. a two pack is okay, but a six pack is too far.)

I’m sure I’m not unusual in the former, but the latter is probably less common, since I hear guys talking about how hot certain female athletes are.

You obviously haven’t shopped at my local Walmart.

Or any other, for that matter. (And no, I’m not one of those “protest Walmart by never shopping there” people, I’ve just never really had a reason to shop there)

You, my dear, have given me some new inspiration. You see, Troy Polamalu and Ewan MacGregor are two of my favorite male celebrities to drool over.

I tend to like more of the “natural” look, and have a wide range of body types that I like. My upper limit for muscularity would be a guy like Kofi Kingston, John Cena or Sheamus of the WWE. John Cena is still a little bigger than I’m really comfortable with, but Kofi Kingston and Sheamus hit the sweet spot for muscular bodies. I also find men like John Leguizamo (on the thinner side) or guys who are built like a silverback gorilla to be attractive. I just happen to find the extremes to be gross, and really, really muscular is one of those extremes. This, this and this are all very unattractive to me.

If you like “natural” “non-bodybuilder” looks, how can you claim to also like John Cena?

People really do not understand the concept of cutting for competitions; they must think that all bodybuilders walk around dry, vascular and totally cut all the time. They seemingly don’t realize that when not preparing for a contest, a natural bodybuilder would have exactly the kind of physique they’d probably find appealing.
