I am sorry – I honestly do not know if these issues are problems or not. My life could be better or it could be worse. Many people are much happier then me, many others are much unhappier. I want everything to be better, but I must appreciate everything I have.
Of people not overcritical of me.
Why are so many of your posts (such as this one) completely unrelated to that which you’re responding to?
<Whala!!!> suddenly all of these are not problems anymore and we “don’t understand”, all of a sudden its completely acceptable to you to have these “problems”.

1- you really need to stop changing the size of your words, people are going to get tired of it quickly, and it is not going to work out well for you.
2- your written skills are fine, you do not need to change the color or size of your font
3- i think you know these topics are problems, otherwise, you wouldn’t complain. but you get feedback, realize it will take work to change, and then you want to pretend like there is no problem.
Of people not overcritical of me.
So your plan is to… refuse to be nice, and you expect people to not be critical of you?
Good luck with that.

I guess these are problems, but if the solution involves lots of work, then it’s not worth trying. These are problems I can tolerate.

really?
so after multiple threads/topics on your various problems, people spending days at a time helping you, your response is if it takes lots of work, you don’t want to hear about it?
the only thing that is going to take lots of work
is changing your attitude
you can have a better life… you really can.

I am sorry. I am not talking about problems, but about my life – which is very much different then that of an average American. Does not every one here talk mostly about their experience?
My life has advantages and disadvantages. I have much less freedom but also much less responsibility and workload then most Americans.

Me too.
That is one advantage of being unemployed or working part time. You have freedom.
Lots of people on this site have psychological or psychiatric problems or have some other issue of a personal nature. Most of us… we don’t start threads about it specifically, or, do so rarely. Most of us, we mention it in small ways as we go about posting on SDMB. But when/if we do make a thread complaining or asking for advice: we listen to the advice.

I, too, would be interested in the answer to this question. Many of CCitizen’s responses to this thread have seemed like Non-Sequitur Theater.
Me too.

Thank you for sharing – even if I was 100% independent from my parents but worked 40 hours a week I would not be free! If only more people talked about their problems, the World would be a much better place.

Actually, no, you want to vent your problems on strangers, you want us to listen, but you don’t want to change. The world would be a lot worse, actually, if people complained all the time but never changed.
I recognize it takes courage for you to talk about these things.
You need to take one more step: action. (even a small step)
Actually, no, you want to vent your problems on strangers, you want us to listen, but you don’t want to change.
I am not sure I need any major changes. Maybe minor changes.

ok
tell me one minor change you’ve made from a suggestion you got here except for trying new software
I guess these are problems, but if the solution involves lots of work, then it’s not worth trying. These are problems I can tolerate.
Then stop whining and asking strangers for advice you never had any intention of taking. Tolerating is not whining.

Minor changes won’t win you friends. Either you sincerely want friends, or you want to avoid major changes and have everything remain just as it is, friendless and all. You can’t have it both ways, SO PICK ONE.
It is literally that simple. Make your choice. Friends or status quo?

Many ARE tired already.
It won’t happen, but just once I would like to see a thread started by CCitizen go completely unanswered. I find the infinite patience that many of you have with him really intriguing. And I suppose somewhat heartwarming too.
He doesn’t really want to follow any advice; in spite of how sound and solid it is, he dismisses most of it, if not all. And he flip-flops on what he needs and wants constantly.
I’ve been following this thread (while gnashing my teeth), but I can’t give him any advice or suggestions because it is quite obvious to me that when he’s reading responses he’s probably chanting: “Yeah yeah…yada yada yada…” while loving the attention.

The word you meant, Robert, was voila. It’s French. Please don’t ever type “Whala” again. Thanks.
synonym for abracadabra
As noted above, it’s “voila.” And it’s not a synonym for “abracadabra.” “Abracadabra” is a magic word that is supposed to trigger some magical transformation. “Voila” means “see it!” And it’s what you say to show that the magic has been completed.
