Definitely some of my videos will be about autism.
Do you think that human interaction, through the medium of a forum post, conversation, if you will, is “art?”
ETA Do you consider this interaction, this one here, to be a form of art, to be created and defined out of solely negativity?
AGAIN, what actually interests you?
Why the hell are you expecting him to listen?
No – maybe my VLOG will be.
PS. I am deeply indebted to my adviser in terms of very very late work.
The video on motorcycles and safety is EXCELLENT.
You’ve said that you have a PhD in math and that “most” statistics is at a high school level. Maybe that is true. But you have a GIFT for explaining things using statistics. Of explaining things succinctly but including all the proper details. Of taking a complex issues, and, using stats, and explaining it.
I encourage you to take that VLOG about motorcycles, post it as an individual thread and let other people comment. I think you are great at explaining statistics. You could definitely have a job or a YouTube channel about statistics aimed at the “average” person.
Thank you very much. I will continue my VLOG. Now I will finish some of the work I must do for my (mostly) unpaid internship adviser.
Ok
but i seriously, seriously suggest you start a thread (later) from the motorcycle VLOG
So your interaction here …why so negative? If you seek human interaction, what actually interests you? What is positive or even interesting in your life? It’s not art here right? So what does it matter if art is created from pain?
I suspect this article might be useful to you —
“6 Harsh Truths That Will Make You a Better Person”
Or disability. I’m actually surprised he’s not on it now.
The secret is to break down any goal you want to achieve into smaller steps that require hardly any effort. Then you do the smaller steps one at a time.
For instance, you probably want a driver’s license in order to be able to get out and do stuff. So you break down the process.
Go to this website, click on your state, and find out the requirements to get a learner’s permit. That’s it. Do that, and you have your first success.
You don’t need to be overwhelmed, or even to think about anything else. You will know what is needed to get a learner’s permit, and that’s enough for one day.
Then you say “OK, I need to pass the written test”. Also a small and easy step. There are lots of free practice test sites, and anyone with a Ph.D. can pass it. You take a few practice exams. Again, you’re done for the day.
Etc. Set a small goal, and achieve it.

Shodan
Great advice Shodan!
I’m wondering how CCitizen got a Ph.D. when he doesn’t drive, has no social contacts, rarely leaves his house, etc.
My parents drove me to University every day. Doing the PhD was a paid work I have performed for my parents. They wanted me to do the PhD and offered to support me and give me a good allowance. I agreed and did my job.
I do not see anything to be ashamed of – for either myself or my parents.
Thank you. If I become an Actuary I will learn to drive.
If you want to be miserable keep making excuses as to why you don’t need to do anything. If you want to get better, then take some advice.
OK, I definitely should become an Actuary, but it will take some time.
no.
the point was you should get the licence even if you don’t become an actuary.
Why did your parents want you to earn your PhD? Just for shits and giggles? They’re happy with a degree that is never put to any use? What’s the point? Don’t they want you to take the next step on the path that you started by earning your degree, which would be finding employment? It sounds like you aren’t the only one with issues here. This whole thing seems like a co-dependent nightmare.
So they can start conversations with “My son the doctor…” while leaving out the 'is over 40, grossly overweight, lives in our basement, and doesn’t drive" part?
