Are you going to dump or regift any of what Santa brought?

As a vegan, I can’t stand that my 90-year old aunt mails me Hickory Farm-type variety packs every year.
She tries to understand, and gives me the turkey varieties, but I don’t eat turkey or cheese either.
And I refuse to give them to anyone else, since it would be encouraging meat eating.
It seems wasteful to toss, but I don’t want to embarass her. I am, after all, happy she cares about me.

Another FM (oddly enough, related by blood by Ms. I-Love-To-Give-Sparkly-Stuff) gave a container of nuts. Fine…but the ribbon she wrapped around it was loaded with…can you guess?.. SPARKLY glittery crap that comes off all over!

Okay, done ranting now.

And by the way, I LOVE dark chocolate.

I understand how you feel about that, but maybe you could donate it to a shelter? At least it wouldn’t be garbage then.

We are into re-regifting already. Friends of my folks gave them huge boxes of candy, which they don’t need, so they gave them to us. We don’t need them either, so onward they speed. One box will be given to my Debate team if they do well at the next tournament, and the other…will get passed on somehow.

I saw one at Best Buy the other day for $19.99. No fooling.

I agree, too…this is wasteful. I know you have your principles, but there are plenty of homeless who don’t get enough food to worry about principles. Please reconsider throwing away perfectly good food, and giving it to a shelter or a Soup Kitchen.

Thanks for the linky! Think I found something I want, as my Marx Bros collection has only just started, and I don’t have any of those!

That’s the essential Marx collection, alright. You should either keep them or send them to me!

Both of my mother-in-laws (one’s a stepmother-in-law) are very well-meaning and generous. However they’ll often try to go out on a limb and take a stab at getting me something without bothering to find out what I’m interested in.

My stepmother-in-law got me a page-a-day calendar about scrapbooking. I HATE scrapbooking and have never scrapbooked a thing in my life. This was regifted the very next day to a friend at work who is a psychotic scrapbooker.

My regular mother-in-law got me a pink plastic carry-all bag with cartoons of women shopping all over it. She usually gives me a nice gift card to Kohls or Old Navy and picture frames or lotion or something I always can use. How she came up with this I have no idea. I haven’t figured out how to regift that one yet. Anyone have a 13-year old daughter or niece who might enjoy such a thing?

My ex gave me 3 movies that I hate. I gave him a book about the plague.
