Are you playing Pokemon Go?

I know there are two other threads about this game in this forum, but neither is about asking “Who is playing?” which is all this thread is looking for.

I’m just curious, since it seems this game has gone nuts in the world in the short time it’s been out.

Yep, level 12 team mystic.

Yep, along with my wife and daughter (when the damned servers are working, anyway).

I am, although not at this moment as the servers have been unstable all day.

Nope, my phone isn’t smart enough and I don’t own a tablet.

My wife, though, has a cheap Android tablet. Maybe I should install it on hers.

No. I don’t understand what is going on. But it reminds me of a poem I can’t remember, in a song that may never have existed, in a place I’m not sure I’ve ever been to.

Anyone seen my onion?! My belt feels funny!

Yeah. started yesterday and I’m level 5. No team yet, not even sure how I select one. My wife is playing too but her account got mysteriously wiped – perhaps related to all the server outages? It even let her remake it with the same nickname as before, as though she never played. Luckily, she was only level 1 or 2 and has more than recovered her couple Pokemon.

Yep. Started a couple of days ago. I was very briefly a gym leader a few minutes ago. Another Mystic came along and put a less-pathetic defender in the second slot, so he’s the boss now. I got my gym bonus, so it’s no skin off my nose. If he can hold onto it until tomorrow, I get more stuff.

Tried it. Basically a cutsie Ingress, which I hated.

Pokemon Go players bag Some Clown on an attempted murder charge. Pitiful. We need to Make America Great Again so we can get a better class of criminals.

No I still haven’t been able to even set my name. “too long” or “too short” are the only messags I get.

Yeah. I have been playing all week but a slow start due to lack of enough battery power, it’s been too hot to go out and walk (I usually walk 2 miles a day), and even though I have been to my gym which is both a gym and a Pokestop 3 times since I started, I didn’t know that I was supposed to spin the goddamn Pokestop so I got nothing good. I also spend half of my time logging in to Google AGAIN.

I’m a mess.

But, yes, I am here.

Yes. I’m playing it and my kids are too. Tonight my husband realized that the kids will go on very long walks in order to reach Pokestops. By the time they got back, I think he had started playing too.

There are 7 Pokestops and a gym in the park behind our house. And on a fairly regular basis (I haven’t timed it yet) a Pokemon spawns in or near our front garden.
Oh…that’s a “yes” to the question in the OP.

This. I hear references to this thing, but I’m pretty much in the dark.

In other news, I posted my first tweet yesterday. I have one follower.

Yes.

Its silly, but it gets me out walking, gives me something I can do with my kids, and eventually when the trade function is developed, I can give what I level to them.

The servers still seem to be thrashed. The rangefinder is pretty much nonfunctional; it finds stuff, but marks it all as 3 steps away and never changes, even when something pops up at my feet. I was also unable to enter a battle at the nearby gym–it kept hanging and showing me an empty arena. (Not that I would have taken the gym, but I could have beat the first defender before retreating.)

In related news, I downloaded Ingress. I’m going to try out using it to locate Pokemon stuff, and maybe even play it a bit. (I was curious about it at one point, but never got around to playing.)

Yep…at least I’m trying to. Ruptured my plantar fascia on Thursday (non-game related) so I’ve been mostly content with using incense and sending Suburban Plankton out into the park behind out house to incubate eggs and get me more Pokeballs.

Well, while we were out at breakfast, my wife and I noticed a nearby park had a bunch of Pokestops and so we decided to head there after eating. Walked a loop around a lake and over a bridge with our 5 year old and let him spin the Pokestops and catch the critters. There was a number of people around – not a crushing amount, just more than I’m sure the park usually sees – with Lures going and hanging around. It wasn’t a giant Kumbayah Moment like some talk about but everyone was in nice spirits, people gave my son smiles when he’d cheer that he “caught the duck” and sometimes I’d get someone asking “Did you get the Evee? There’s one over here”. The far end of the path loop had a park and my son played a while then we walked back.

So, for a free game, it led to a nice Sunday morning walk and bit of exercise in a place we otherwise wouldn’t have stopped at. Can’t really ask for more than that.

I don’t own a smartphone, so no.
