Are you shrinking?

You better want to! There’s so much to live for!

I’m 3/4" down. I did gain a little height during one surgery but lose a little in another. 65.

  1. Probably haven’t measured myself in the past 5-10 years. When I last did, I was surprised that I was still 6’3". I figure if I never measure myself again, I will remain at that height!

For me it was unpleasant when my jeans waist measurement exceeded the length.

Whoops! Learned yesterday after posting that I’m in for yet another surgery, next month. Wonder which way this one will go?

Neato aside: they may let me keep the fixation plate they’re going to replace, so I can add it to my metals collection.

It actually might. I created the name in a fit of impulsivity and I’ve disliked it pretty much ever since.

But while there are very few people here who actually recognize my name and connect it to memories of things I have posted., I don’t want to pick something new and have any future posts disconnected from my past ones.

One thing you might do is compare your actual height to your height listed on your driver’s license: a lot of people have a height listed from when they were much younger–and have never modified it.

I had my physical yesterday, and I thought of this thread while my height was being measured. Fortunately I remain at 5’4" for now.

I haven’t had an ‘official’ height measurement since I was a kid but I"ve had an opportunity to weigh myself on very accurate scales in a professional capacity for years. My weight has been remarkably stable for at least 15 years, about 175 +/- about 3 pounds in my typical work clothing.

I used to be 5’3". I wanted an accurate height measurement to calculate BMI. I’m now 5’1 1/2" at the age of 70.

I’ve always been 6’1". A month or two ago, my wife measured me and I was 6’ even. Pushing 50 years old.

Pretty soon I won’t be able to reach the top shelves!

I hate you!

You know of those old fashioned ‘move across the heavy weight’, weight scales? Well, the first one you push across is 50kg.

Was at the Dr recently, they weighed me, (we’ve never owned scales, at our house!), and had to push that weight back! I was UNDER 50 kg. (Felt kind of embarrassed, to be honest!)

Definitely shrinking.
(I’m kind of afraid for them, to measure my height!)

I went from 6’1" down to 5’10" but a cervical disk replacement and a lumbar fusion regained an inch of that.

I’ve been 5’ 9" since my junior year in high school and am too young to start shrinking yet. Since gravity seems to be the logical culprit, I may not shrink because I’m 120 lbs. That’s a lot less sag than, say, a guy who is 200 lbs.
