Are you Team Trayvon or Team Zimmerman?

Oh, you know him personally then? Or is this just reaction to all the media blitz going on and all the people calling for his arrest, regardless of any sufficient evidence to arrest the guy?

He has a right to due process, just like any other citizen. The DA is not going to allow an arrest without enough evidence to indict the guy. If they do, and he goes to trial, he will walk. The family is grieving and lashing out, wanting an arrest. If they (and you) were thinking rationally, they would understand why there hasn’t been one. Whether or not he’s an asshole cop wannabe or just someone who used poor judgment has yet to be shown, and all those screaming for his blood ought to cool their jets.

Just to say that I think a Pit Thread should be opened on “I hate the whole Team X vs Team Y” syntax that started with the Twilight Saga.

Which one is the werewolf and which one is the vampire?

I wouldn’t call you crazy so much as biased. The police report lists Martin’s weight at 160 pounds. Are you that sure that a 160-pound athlete could not sucker punch and beat up a 240-pound fatty?

According to reports, Zimmerman’s nose was injured and he had an injury on the back of his head. Are you so sure that those reports are lies? If they are not lies, then how did Zimmerman get injured?

Yes, it is possible that Zimmerman, who had a 100 pound advantage on the kid, and who had a gun, was beaten senseless by a schoolboy with his bag of skittles.

It’s possible that Zimmerman, who had called 911 dozens of times in the past, and who thought of himself as a citizen cop, and who called was told by 911 to not engage the “suspicious person”, was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It is within the realm of possibility that Zimmerman, who had previously assaulted a police officer, and had great motivation to lie to cover his ass after killing an unarmed teenager is being completely truthful.

That would be for a proper investigation to determine. What pissed people off in this case is that apparently there was not going to be an investigation, as the police seemed to simply believe one version of the story (ie the killers excuse)

Did he or did he not stalk the kid through the night like some pedo creeper? Did he or did he not disregard police instructions to stay in his vehicle? Did he or did not ignore the kid’s requests about why he was following him?

Documented testimony from the kid’s girlfriend shows Trayvon was scared for safety by this murderer’s actions. If you stalk someone through the night, scaring the crap out of them, and ignore requests to tell that person what you’re doing. You have no right to murder them when they try to protect themselves.

Finally what did the murdered kid do that was so suspicious to warrant the murderer’s attentions?

Zimmerman is the vampire cause that’d be the only reason someone would volunteer to drive around at night looking for thugs, Trayvon is the werewolf because that is the only possible way a 140 lb. kid could lay wood on a man driving a car.

I am on Team Trayvon to the extent that I think Zimmerman should stand trial. I’m on Team Zimmerman to the extent that I’d be fine with it if he were then found not guilty (or if a grand jury refused to indict).

Team Trayvon -

If reports are correct and he punched Zimmerman and smashed his head then he was clearly in the right, utilizing the dreaded “Stand Your Ground” defense against someone coming at him with a gun.

I’m on team We Don’t Fucking Shoot People, Jesus Christ.

Zimmerman’s account is convenient. It may be true, I don’t know that. All I know is that it’s convenient.

Apparently, you weren’t nearly sarcastic enough. :frowning:

(bolding mine)

I believe you make the OP’s point for him. You and a few other people.
Roddy

Trayvon for President!

ZIMMERMAN 2013

For fuck’s sake people… I’m quite sure the OP was written in jest.

Nominated and elected to stupid buttfuck reply HOF.

But they have holes in them.

I’m inclined to believe that Zimmerman fucked up.

Neighborhood Watch is designed to alert the police, not to act as if you are some sort of armed security guard. Zimmerman himself escalated the situation by getting out of his car to follow Martin. At that point, in my opinion, though possibly not according to Florida law, he lost any “Stand Your Ground” defense that he may have had.

Being Black without due care & attention?

Of course it was. Thing is, the situation isn’t really funny, and pretending that both “sides” are equally believable is disingenuous at best.
