Are you Team Trayvon or Team Zimmerman?

I like your style dude.

The report states Sanford Fire department treated Zimmerman at the scene. There should be a record, but HIPAA protects it until released by Zimmerman or it is properly subpoenaed. http://www.seminolecountyfl.gov/dps/admin/medical.aspx http://www.seminolecountyfl.gov/dps/ems/faq.aspx

Google “police writing software/programs” to find out about how it works and how many there are available. It’s not clear which the Sanford PD uses. The change from Doe, if that is how it happened is likely entered later and relates back to every page where “Doe” was listed. An analogous situation would be if you lost your memory and went to the hospital, but midway through your treatment you remember your name. If you then order records on discharge your old records when you were a Doe will still have a stamp with your real name, d/o/b etc…

This is a really good example of why the habit of bolding other users names is a good idea. I must have read this five or six times before I realized what the actual subject of this sentence was.

Not a doctor but not necessarily – till we know more a “broken nose” can be a fissure, which does not necessarily need a splint. But beyond Lobohan’s anecdote (and I’ll wait for a Doctor’s opinion,to clear any doubt) either will bleed a LOT. In my case the EMTs cleaned me up as much as possible and stuck cotton ‘tubes’ dipped in peroxide in each nostril on the way to to the ER. Once there the blood had ‘caked’ (coagulated) and the Doctor proceeded to scrape it so I could breathe through it – causing yet again minor bleeding.

Point being, there was a LOT of blood involved. Though at no point was I in danger of dying…that I know of.

I heard that in one of the 40-odd calls to 911, he reported a suspicious black male, “7-9” years old, and that he warned people in the neighborhood to call 911 if there were unknown black males walking around.

I would be curious if some of the people denying the obvious (that the incident happened due to Trayvon’s race) now would admit it was the main reason for the tragedy if this gets more heavily verified later on. I really doubt Zimmerman stopped EVERY person he didn’t know in his neighborhood, so you would have to explain why Zimmerman stopped him specifically.

He said “they” always get away, it was pretty loud and clear that that day “they” weren’t going to get away if Zimmerman had anything to do with it. Who was “they”?

Now I’m seeing Zimmerman’s father in a shaded interview where he basically repeats any news article, adding the phrase “at some point” about 20 times. "At some point, Trayvon said ‘Now you’re gonna die’, or, “you’re gonna die tonight.”

What a crock of absolute shit. Arrest the guy and let a real investigation begin.

I think that for some of Zimmerman’s supporters, the very idea of a young black male walking in their neighborhood is inherently intimidating. If you read some of the comments in the threads on this board, people are asking things like “why was he walking so slow,” or “what was he doing outside in the rain?” From that level of fear, it’s not a huge jump to someone getting shot.

Thank you.

Also, if you don’t mind my asking, wouldn’t you say he appears to be in a fairly jocular mood for someone who just had his nose broken a few hours earlier(though apparently didn’t feel the need to go to the hospital to have it treated).

I’m not sure I understand you here – are you claiming that the early articles included the hoodie photo just as often as they included the “Hollister” photo?

Lol, a stunning rebuttal.

 What exactly is my “worthless opinion” in your view?

And please answer my question: How were you so confident that the initial investigation was “worthless”?

And how were you so confident about what happened even before this video came out? Why is it that you “didn’t believe for a second” that Martin could possibly have sucker punched and beat up Zimmerman?

Right, under the scenario I proposed he went from “almost there” to “all the way there.”

Oh, I read that 9-11 report, about the 7 to 9 year old child. The notes were clear that Zimmerman didn’t say anything like “suspicious,” rather than he was concerned about an unsupervised child.

Which, still weird. When I see an unsupervised child of 7 or 9, I assume they are playing. I mean, 7- and 9-year-olds outside without the grownups, that’s normal isn’t it?

I’ll say.

If the system had done its thing properly inf the first place, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. The whole business has a Keystone Kopps feeling to it. And as You With the Face pointed out, that videotape of The Idiot shown on ABC (yeah, I saw it too) sure didn’t show a man who had just suffered serious injuries in a desperate fight for his life.

While Trayvon Martin‘s mother accused authorities of smearing her son, her lawyer revealed she’s moved to trademark slogans that have been popularized amid the outcry over his killing.

Sybrina Fulton, the slain teen’s mother, has sought to trademark two phrases: “Justice for Trayvon” and “I Am Trayvon,” attorney Kimra Major-Morris confirmed in an email Monday in which she said the move was not intended to reap a profit, the Associated Press reported.

The two sayings have become like rallying cries since the 17-year-old was shot to death during a still-murky encounter with neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman on Feb. 26 in Sanford, Fla.

{snip}

The trademark applications said the catch phrases could be used on DVDs and CDs—but the mother’s lawyer indicated their use would be to support those who find themselves suffering for the same reasons as Fulton.

In confirming the applications to the AP, trademark attorney Kimra Major-Morris wrote in an email that the grieving mother wants to safeguard intellectual property rights for “projects that will assist other families who experience similar tragedies.”

When a reporter for the wire service asked if the mother had any designs to make a profit, Major-Morris responded, “None.”

It’s a good idea.

So, if it turns out his Mom is a venal, grasping bitch, that means he is less dead?

No, no. Only that she *wanted *him dead so she could trademark his name. Try to keep up.

If someone is going to make money off of this, is there someone other than the parents that it should be? I don’t think so, but I bet the lawyer advised it anyway.

No, but it does, together with other things such as Messrs. Jackson and Sharpton grabbing the opportunity to do some more rabble rousing, help to turn the whole sorry affair into a circus.

Funny. Larry Annen thinks there’s an article about this case that hasn’t already been posted.

I bet if you go to those places that sell “Gucci” bags and “Sean John” apparel and copies of movies that haven’t hit theaters yet, you can find someone already making money off the Trayvon case.
