Are 'Zombie Jesus' jokes offensive?

Oh, please. You’re describing something that doesn’t exist.

So they’re just not clever enough to come up with something funny? Ok.

Not offensive, but only funny if delivered in a Doctor Farnsworth style voice

I live in the united states. This place is SATURATED with refrences to Christianity. We have a national holiday named after the guy. (A pagan holiday, admittedly, but still.) We have blue laws. We have him mentioned on our coinage and in our national pledge. We have large and vocal religious anti-gay faction. And just listen to the politicians talk sometime.

I gather that we’re not the only country with a certain Christian presence - are there some rather large and prominent churches in certain places, and I seem to recall that there’s a gigantic Christ statue that I saw depicted in a recent 3D-rendered film. Admittedly some other countries have much less of this, or none - and some have some other religion dominating the place.

Hey, as much as we like to flatter ourselves for our special perceptiveness, it doesn’t actaully take that much brains or cleverness to not believe in the disjointed mishmash that is Christianity. Even a baby can do it!

I find Zombie Jesus jokes not offensive at all and funny for all the wrong reasons.

Good jokes are often offensive, but I would not appreciate someone doing it with the sole reason to make me feel like a dick head. So pull ya head and remember there is a time and a place for offensive jokes but there are also times to have respect for fellow human beings.

I think the good patient Christians do a mighty fine job of belittling and offending Muslims already, why compete?
