Area 51

By the way, if you had taken a look at the Wikipedia link, bot, you would have seen that although images from publically released US satellite images have been mysteriously erased, declassified images from Soviet satalite surveillence of Area 51 abound.

I’m going crazy here. Look guys, don’t start with conspiracy theories and stuff alright, and dont assume I would believe you if you had stated it that way anyways. And are you asking ME what the names of the workers are? Because if you are, how would I know? That’s why I came to this site, to find answers since I knew(or thought) that reasonable and intelligent people who answered the question first and did not try to be funny would help me find information on this topic. I did look at the link and I know about the soviet pictures, but a newer, better and more high res satellite could be used to uncover some of the truth. Look, give me facts or intelligent assumptions or just move on, p l e a s e…

Paging Dr. Glee, paging Dr. Glee. Remember that astral projection thread you started? You are needed in surgery to wrapup the year-long test of ex-Cityboy916.

The following two credible web sites might be of some interest:

The Groom Lake “Area 51” has not been used for decades except as a lightning rod for Seekers. The “alien” bodies have been held at Wright-Patterson AFB since the Sixties at least. (The DNA testing during Clinton’s second term showed the bodies to be within a standard deviation of human baseline, but orthogonical to “normal” claves. That is why I place “aliens” in quotes.)

The reverse engineering of propulsion systems has been moved to an undisclosed location in Nevada. The work is stymied by our inability to recreate some of the materials like the room-temperature superconductor. Our analysis shows that it is composed of carbon with some rare earth doping, but it is the arrangement of the lattice which seems crucial. We have been able to get some promising results from resublimated thiothimoline compounds.

Anyway, Area 51 has nothing happening, but repeated enquiries can bring scrutiny onto yourself.

To zero in to the topic from one link Duckster supplied:

Dear Bot,

Sorry if we got off on the wrong foot.

The rumours about Area 51 have been circulating for many decades, and yet no proof has ever turned up.
So I assumed that either you were gullible or joking.
(However my first post did in either case summarise the conspiracy theories quite well.)

I noticed that in true SDMB fashion, you were immediately offered two excellent references on the topic.

You then alleged that the US Government can successfully kill anyone who enters Area 51, without giving any cites.
(I have to say that we love our cites here on this board!)

So I posted a fake web reference to the actor Cary Grant (his real name was Archibald Leach, and he was English) in a film memorably spouting a load of anti-US propaganda under duress, and climaxing with ‘tell it to the Army, the Navy, but especially tell it to the Marines!’.
Which of course means ‘ignore this rubbish’.

Now I did then investigate your links (thanks for providing them!), and two serious questions arise.

  1. Why would a ‘successful’ lie-detector test of Bob Lazar prove anything?
They are known to be unreliable, and are not accepted as evidence in court.

Note how he claims to have degrees from prestigious US scientific establishments, yet they have no record of him.
His supporters claim this is evidence of how far the conspiracy reaches.
I want to know why he doesn’t simply produce a Yearbook, or a fellow student.

  1. Then we come to the murders of innocent workers. Your link claims their families tried to sue. Amazingly the case was dismissed. Yet there is no record of it, and we can’t even find the names of the workers.

This leaves two alternatives:

  • either the US Government has killed two US citizens just to keep an alien spaceship secret (and presumably kidnapped the families and the lawyers involved in the case to keep even their names secret)

  • or it’s a load of bllcks.

I’m voting for the latter.

Dear Dr. Fidelius,

I notice you have the qualification ‘Charlatan’ after your name. Is this a foreign award? I could not find this title coming from any US University.

I think that operation was a complete success - only the patient’s belief died!

A short man dressed in green with apple cheeks handed me a diploma and said:
“Therefore, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Universitatus Committeeatum e plurbis unum, I hereby confer upon you the honorary degree of Ch.D.”

Here’s my unscientific take on the subject:

  1. There is no hard evidence that Bob Lazar is anything but a fraud.

  2. The DOD has done several “land grabs” around the base in the last decade which have made it more difficult to view the facility at Groom lake.

  3. The United States was sued by former workers at the so called Groom Lake facility for exposure to toxic substances that were disposed of in an illegal manner. During the course of that case the government admitted (it is my understanding) that there was a facility near Groom Lake.

  4. It is my understanding (but I am far from certain) that President Clinton signed an executive order which exempted this facility from relevent federal environmental regulations and that these had the effect of quashing the case against the government.

  5. There are many people in and around Los Vegas who have worked at this facility being transported there from Nellis Air Force base via airplane.

  6. Several years ago there was a report in a magazine I think called Aviation Weekly (but possibly Jane’s) concerning the possibility that the Air Force was testing a hypersonic airplane termed Aurora which may use nuclear power in order to maintain longer flight times.

  7. When I was 22 while driving on a trip out West to California, I personally hiked to the perimeter of a facility located just West of Nevada Hwy 318, about six miles South of Rachel Nevada. There was an unmarked dirt road not from the famous “black mail box” which terminated at a fence/gait. In addition, there was a sign which read in part “deadly force authorized” and cited some appearently relevent US Code. You could also climb a mountain called bald Mountain at the time which over looked the facility before the DOE annexed that area in the late 1990’s. There was also a vehicle that seemed to be approaching me ( I was about 200 yards outside the fence) in the distance, but I split and got back onto the road before they arrived.

Since the OP is by a returnee, and an obvious loon, let’s just put this one to bed, even though it should be moved to CoCC.

Closed.
