It doesn’t provide a lot of material, but I enjoy the Onion Radio News Podcast.
It does air on some public radio stations, but isn’t on the NPR list.

Inspired by a recent GQ thread, here is a pocast (inFrench) on the mysteries of the Rosary.

KCRW has a bunch of podcasts. I highly recommend Harry Shearer’s (voice of Mr. Burns and Smithers on The Simpsons) Le Show. It’s a newsier version of The Daily Show and he covers a lot of material which I’ve not heard mentioned elsewhere.
Wow, is it just me, or is the first time that a podcast thread has gotten so much love?
Usually it’s just like three Dopers going, “Woooo! Podcasts RULE! WOOOOOO!” and a few of other people going, “Huh? What is this ‘Pod Cast’ you speak of?”
Of course, with all these new recommendations, I’m never going to have time to watch tv anymore.
I like listening to talk more than listening to music, so podcasts are right up my alley.
If you dig Firefly and/or Serenity you should check out Fireflytalk and *the Signal * and a new podcast coming out soon *Tales from the 'Verse * featuring Firefly fan fiction. I happen to be a host/reader for this one (so you KNOW it’s good)
NASA has a couple of podcasts, but I can’t really recommend them. Only one of them seems to be posted regularly, and it’s hosted by a guy who sounds like Corky St. Clair from Waiting for Guffman. It’s kind of hard to take someone talking about the total destruction of all life on Earth, when you keep waiting for him to say, “But nothing’s terrible when you have a Remains of the Day lunchbox!”
