Argh! They killed Gwen!

Don’t worry, somebody cloned her.

But then I think the clone died too. Oh well.

heh heh, I was the same. I had a huge ranting argument with my best friend over Vader being a cunning, EVIL manipulator, and how it would be just the thing to say to screw with Luke’s head. My friend wouldn’t have a bar of it, ‘nah, Vader said so, didn’t he? Why would he lie?’.

Even knowing I was wrong I still get shirty thinking how flawed my friend’s reasoning was.

…Have you seen… the footage… of Buckwheat being shot?

No?

Then let’s have a look…

The Day Gwen Stacy Died. Amazing Spider-Man issue #121. I used to own that issue. I sold it when I was 18 along with my Giant-Size X-Men issue #1. What a tool.

Not true. Gwen was important to the dynamic of the series. For the better part of five years, loser Peter Parker suddenly had two gorgeous girlfriends, the “good girl” (Cop’s daughter and perpetual virgin) Gwen, and the “bad girl” (slightly slutty go-go dancer) MJ. Even after Gwen died, he kept meeting other “good girl” archetypes, but it says plenty about the character that he always went back to Mary Jane. It would absolutely rule if, say, Mandy Moore signed on to the movies as Gwen. The catfights with Kirsten Dunst alone…!
