Guess what I saw - clue "Your friendly neighborhood..." SPIDERMAN!

YAY! I got to go to the premiere. i really liked it. Any one else have any comments?

The effects were excellent and the casting great!

I know, I’m a slave to Hollywood hype, but do you think i could get away with a Spiderman costume for Halloween?

I am so looking forward to taking my son to see that. Friday!

Rystad - How old is your son? I didn’t take my nephew because I think he may be too young (The Green Goblin is pretty scary).

You meanSpider-man .

I’ve got two friends who work for Mainframe, which is doing the TV series spinoff.

Their company has rented a local movie theatre so every employee can watch the film tomorrow morning.

Bastards!

I hate all of you. The stupid f**cks in charge of movie distribution have decided to keep it back a month here.

Geez…I can only imagine what Loudgoldfish would have to say about it.

Wow- Mainframe’s doing the series? I LOVE those guys- ever since ReBoot. That’s the first animated series that made me get all misty-eyed.

And DAMMIT, I want season four!

If Stan Lee has a cameo? (He did in X-Men, was the hot dog vendor on the beach where the blobby guy got out of the water)

Brian
“greetings, true believers!”

Doh! Just posted a quick review in the other Spider-Man thread. The movie was great. I’ve been told that Stan Lee does have a cameo, but I totally missed it when watching the movie. I’d have to see it again and pay more attention the background to catch him I’m sure. The cameo by Bruce Campbell was great though.

I didn’t notice Stan Lee anywhere. And I was actively looking for him, too.

Smilin’ Stan appears in a crowd scene. He apparently had a larger cameo where he saves someone, but it was cut out of the film, I hear.

Dont toy with me.

Are you SERIOUS??? Is it live action???

OMG just got home and it was FABULOUS!!!

a bit scary for some of the toddlers who were there, GOOD I hope they are up all night screaming and the inbred parents who take TODDLERS to a PG rated movie learn not to do it again!

Bwahahahahah
HOW frigging cool was j jonah jameson!???!!

I think The Man was shown saving someone. Didn’t he move that little girl out of the way?

And how come the Goblin only used that “atomization bomb”, which he used to kill Oscorp’s board of directors, once? It could have come in handy a couple of times.

Er, maybe he only had one of them.

For that matter, why didn’t he peek under Spidey’s mask when he immobilized him?

Pardon the nitpick. I thought it was a great show. Little goofs like that don’t bother me (especially when it’s basically a convention of the genre).

I saw it tonight too, and I have to say that I loved it – conditionally.

I just love Marvel super heroes, so this movie could have been done with stick figure animations and Carrot-Top doing all the voice-overs and I would have loved it.

My short review goes something like this: The acting was kind of blah (I almost chuckled when Toby M. was crying over his dead uncle – it seemed so forced). The action and the special effects were fantastic. And the story stayed pretty true to the legacy, except for the whole organic web-shooter deal (which I found worked well as a story point).

This movie screamed at the top of its lungs in every language known to man for a sequel. Just the fact that we had Norman Osbourne as the Green Goblin and his son Harry courting MJ was a dead giveaway, even without the blatant announcement at the end – “Spider-Man will pay!!” I am very much looking forward to that sequel, and your darn tootin’ I’m buying this DVD the nano-second it hits the market.

Recap: I recommend it to Marvel fans. If you’re looking for a great piece of cinematic art – forget it.

Did you see the part where shot the webs from his wrists? Pfffffffft they went! And then he swung from the webs? Wow.

Also, I wanted to smack him at the end of the movie, but, eh, whatchagonnado.

Woohoo, I just got back from it as well. I thought it looked great (it got a little cartoony at the very last sequence, but hell, it looked so nice I won’t complain). My friend absolutely hated the ending, but I’m thinking $equels! Tony Stark in the Quest suit accident - $equel! “Spider-man will pay”! - $equel!. Tie it in with the upcoming Hulk movie - $equel!

Hey, drag Dolph Lundgren out from wherever he’s hiding and throw in the Punisher too - $equel! (okay, that may be reaching a bit)

I saw it tonight!! I LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!!

ok…i’m spent…I’m going to smoke a cig now.
toby got ripped for this movie. had a nice ass.

I liked it a lot! Real adrenaline rush. The balcony scene was the best, I thought, though I may change my mind on repeat viewings. Teared up a few times, too. Must remind self not to hate Kirsten Dunst. Only time I’ve heard Mr. Rilch comment on another woman’s breasts repeatedly; almost the only time I’ve heard comments at all. He claims to be so dazzled by mine, he rarely notices others.

Speaking of Mr. Rilch, see my thread in the Pit (not against him).
