"Arkanoid" Question...

I love this game and I haven’t played it in a while and I wanted to get it online. But when I went to find a website for it, all of these other things came up, and I couldn’t find it anywhere. I have been experimenting with the clones, but, with the possible exception of “Ball Attack”, they all suck.
Does anyone know where I can download or purchase this fun and addicting game in its original form? TIA

google for “mame arkanoid”.

Mame is an emulator for arcade games. Mame is free, but the games themselves are under copyright. That doesn’t seem to make them very hard to find, though.

If that’s all too much trouble, I find Lbreakout to be the best clone.

Games tend to go into Cafe Society, so I’ll move this one.

Spotmake…Thanks for the tip. I had tried to use MAME before, but I am too new at computers to get anywhere with it. There were so many different versions of the game there, that I got all confused and just ended up putting a lot of junk on my machine. If there is an easier way to do it, please let me know,
The “LBreakout” seems very good, but how does one get the game to fill the full screen? I looked everywhere, and there are no options to do this. Thank you

Spotmaker…Nevermind…I figured it out. Looks like a pretty cool game. Thanks!

I like Super DX-Ball Deluxe. Beautiful graphics, interesting board patterns.

I’m lucky enough to have the real thing (NES and my original cart). There are some really good free knock offs though, with better backgrounds and such.

Oh dear…please help. I downloaded LBreakout, but it only goes up to about 14 levels. How do I get it to go to all the levels that are available?

I second Super DX-Ball. The latest version is pretty cool–nonorthagonal bricks make for rather odd gameplay sometimes.

Ricochet is also pretty good, if you want something with more eye candy.

Also try Javanoid.com. It’s a pretty decent Arkanoid clone.

Well, thanks. I DLed Super DX, Javanoid, and LBreakout, and so far, I prefer. Super DX, especially in the ‘retro’ mode. I guess I like games that are less high tech than most.
Javanoid looked just like Arkanoid, and I was intrigued, but 1., How do you got it to fill the full screen, and 2., can you play it without the mouse having to be in the applet?
Thank you, my people.

Let’s take balls bashing blocks, make it circular, and have fewer blocks.
