I have so many sound clips from this movie as various alert sounds on my computer it isn’t funny.

Just to let you know, Dead by Dawn isn’t exactly a sequel to The Evil Dead, but more of a re-make. They took the events of the first movie and compressed them for the first half of Dead by Dawn, then added a new ending and a new love interest.
Another movie my girlfirend won’t watch with me and my mate who loves this kind of thing is away to Japan to teach English for the year :rolleyes:
I beg to differ, although this is a common misconception. Raimi and company wanted to make a sequel that would pick up right where the first left off. Since they realized that many potential viewers wouldn’t have seen the first film, they wanted to do a recap.
When they couldn’t get the rights to use footage from the original, they filmed a new recap, keeping Ash and Linda but dropping the rest of the crew from the story. They then told the story from the point that the first film ended.
They did the same thing for Army of Darkness, with a new recap that varied from the previous chapter.
Bruce and Sam discuss it in the commentary for Bruce Campbell vs. The Army of Darkness even saying that they feel you can watch the three films, skipping the recaps, as a coherent whole story.
