The ever-popular “Blame your predecessor” gambit, of course.
Infinitely more troubling, Yookeroo.
I fail to see how California’s budget crisis will be helped by electing a man who’ll let some of the worst thieves off the hook to the tune of 9 billion dollars. I’d like to see some more background on Ahnult’s connections with these scumbags. I fear the worst should he attain office.
That’s worse than his using Pete Wilson’s old staff as his policy implementers?
Time to open betting: I say the recall loses narrowly, Bustamante tops the coulda-been-a-contendah list. Who else?
Well no, legally it doesnt matter at all what the specific facts of the employee/employer relationship is. It doesnt matter if she said ‘yes Ok’. It doesnt matter if there were no quid pro quo agreements, it doesnt matter if there was no outright blackmail. In a very real legal sense, any sexual interaction between employee/employer while on the job is by default sexual harrassment. There can be no legal consideration of consent in an employee employer context. Dont blame me, I didnt write the law.
Oh but wait, I forgto, we’re talking about democrats here, and everyone knows the law is meant only to apply to republican business owners and supreme court nominees.
I swear, political parties and their little sycophants.

Well I cant edit so there was a double to fix a spelling error
Its all moot anyway, before the sun rises the dems will have their legal challenges all well phrased and theyll be waiting at the courthouse doors to submit them. Thats really what the 9ths three judge panel thing was about; they knew it wouldnt hold up, so they got a legal voice in while they could so their friends would have some basis for litigation if things dont go their way.
I think that might have happened if the election had been close enough to make plausible cases for recounts and other challenges, but so far this is looking like a massive landslide. The Democrats would be idiots to try to run legal challenges against what looks like the overwhelming choice of Californians.
Well, according to the the LA Times
It looks like Schwarzenegger is going to be our next governor.
Oh please. An adult goes off to DC with the announced intention of banging the president. She gets a job there and then proceeds to throw herself at the man. Is his behavior utterly inappropriate and nasty on a number of levels? Yoo betcha. Was she coerced? Not a frickin’ chance.
About as much coercion there as groupies at a Motley Crue concert.
This is far and away different than a strongman grabbing multiple women and fondling them against their will.
If I had a daughter and she was in the former situation I’d be pissed and offended at both parties. If I had a daughter and she was in the latter situation my first thought would be that the guy had better hope that the cops can get him safely into custody before I show up with my friends Mr. Louisville and Mr. Slugger.
Of course that’s just a gut reaction
It looks likely that the brownshirt groper has won.
(disclaimer: part 1 of that comment is probably underserved but there’s some questions unanswered; part 2 looks pretty likely to be true. Either way, I’m discouraged – Bozo the Clown now runs the state. Whoopee.)
I’m moving back to the midwest.
Squeegee:
We’ll all be over to help you pack tomorrow. Will you be taking Alec, Barbara, Susan, Tim, Martin, and Arianna with you?
Mods - In the interest of saving time, may I respectfully suggest that all threads concerning the California recall be moved to the Pit forthwith?
Whaaaat? Relegate a thread I posted in good faith to try to get reasoned answers to a genuine question to the Pit, just because of some hijacks?
[Thor] I SAY THEE, NAY! [/Thor]
Seriously, though, now that Arnold’s projected to win, I would still appreciate further analysis of this issue. Does he have what it takes to get the economy going again? Is it possible for him to do so, in any way you care to interpret the word “possible”?
so there’s been a total recall, what next now that he’s in? getting caught shagging twins in the back office? We’ve had a George Bush Junior, what about a Swarzenegger Junior? How significant will his saturdays be? Will he put cops in pre-schools?
Say he’s very wealthy huh? How about the others? Pretty much answers itself doesn’t it?
That and the fact that actors usually make pretty good liars, think Reagan.
As opposed to the Democrats who could probably use some acting lessons, think Clinton.
Since Arnold never actually told us what his plans are, this question might be unanswerable. I’m not even sure Arnold knows what is plans are.
