Arnold Schwarzenegger, unrepenant druggie role-model

Then… you get the women!

Geez, mhendo, what can politics give Arnold that he doesn’t already have? I’m not saying he’s perfect or anything, just that he’s clearly not playing the rebel, and to denounce Bush at the national convention would have been like showing his weiner off in public. Stupid.

He’s not stupid, and he’s been planning this whole thing for years, everyone knows that.

So in the first paragraph you basically admit you had a crap OP, in the second you try to weakly justify it anyway (without answering specific questions), then in the third paragraph, you try to change the subject.

Bravo.

This is a forum for ranting.

I ranted.

What more do you want?

(Geez, if it bugs you so much, go demand a refund…)

What the hell are you talking about? That’s fucking stupid and that’s what it deserves to be called.

If alcohol became illegal, wouldn’t that be the reasonable position for a parent to take?

So doing crazy, destructive, and/or dangerous things is okay until a law is passed banning it?

Who said anything about craziness, destruction and danger? I’d just advise my kids against doing illegal things, period. I think that’s what Arnold is doing.

Saying, “don’t drink because it’s bad for you” would be hypocritical. Saying, “don’t drink because it’s illegal” wouldn’t.

Now, would you quit arguing and fix my CSS problem?

Well, you are making an assumption. The assumption is that at the time Arnold took the stuff under the care of a doctor he knew it was crazy, destructive and dangerous.

From the article:
“I have no regrets about it, because at that time, it was something new that came on the market, and we went to the doctor and did it under doctors’ supervision.”

From that quote it is pretty obvious at that time that he did not think it was crazy, dangerous or destructive.

Slee

At least Arnold is enough of a man to actually acknowledge that he used any kind of drugs at all.

(Unlike that piece of shit in the White House, I mean.)

Bush has admitted to using (and abusing) alcohol.

You idiot.

Oh, ALCOHOL.
Right.

Yes, so long as it doesn’t affect anyone other than you. How has Arnold’s steroid use affected you or anyone else?

Hey, he’s certainly welcome to use all the steroids he wants and shrivel up his 'nads.

Just don’t expect me to hold him up as a role model for kids any time soon.

You’re just angry that because of Arnold’s success “having tiny, shriveled testicles” is no longer a valid excuse for the fact that you’re such a failure.

Well, i guess if you count the recently-released, secretly-recorded conversations from Bush’s period as Texas Governor, he has admitted to using marijuana, although he never knew that the admission would be made public.

It could be far worse; I could be a Republican.

Except that’s not what he says. He said that he engaged in a perfectly legal treatment under a doctor’s supervision. He would not, however “encourage children to do drugs, because that sends the wrong message”.

In order to get the soundbite you want to get (which is, regretably, not the thing that Gov. Schwarzenegger says) you actually have to change his words. Just to be clear: you actually have to lie, while quoting words that obviously don’t mean what you say they mean in order to come up with something to pit him for. You are so hard up for criticism of Gov. Schwarzenegger that you are lying in order to pit him.

Let’s parse his words together, shall we? In deference to rjung, I’ll try to use small words.

What utter recklessness! The bastard went to a doctor to get legal medicine and took said medicine under a doctor’s supervision. What a dumbfuck. And, he claims that he has no regrets, seeing as how it was legal and all.

He further says:

What kind of drug use? Does he mean performance legal enhancing substances, as our pronoun challenged comrade rjung would have us believe, with his “I did it” paraphrase? Let’s see if perhaps Schwarzenegger comments. Why, no, he does not mean include the same sorts of drugs he did. We know this because he said so:

So, no, he didn’t do what you said he did, and you have to lie, you actually have to change one of his words, and fail to quote him correctly, to paraphrase him incorrectly, to make your point.

(But then, isn’t that normal for rjung?)

If your kid’s got a role model and it ain’t you, you’re both fucked.

Rather than just point at Arnold and tell the/your kids “Don’t listen to him because he took drugs and isn’t regretful…he’s baaaaad man…oh and he’s a repug too.”, be a little more honest and tell the/your kids “Arnold had thought that at the time that steroids were a safe and viable way to get the results he wanted under the guidance of a doctor, but as time went on, it was discovered that steroids had some side-effects that are not pleasant; even life-threatening or a lethal contributing factor (especially for a guy named Lyle Alzado – look up on internet). Steroids are now banned and illegal because of these issues. Steroids aren’t the only thing that can be detrimental, some diet pills or medication (prescription and OTC) that was legal only a couple of years ago have been pulled from shelves and pharmacies. The main point is…drugs that are considered legally helpful one day may become dangerous and illegal another day. Always consider the benefits and detriments together when making the decision. If you can live/function reasonably well without the medication or drug, then for the sake of overall health, refrain from taking it until it’s absolutely necessary. Your overall health should always be your primary concern throughout your life.”

They don’t need Arnold…they just need a sensible and honest parent that is not a nutjob distorting facts for partizan bashing opportunities. That would be a VERY POOR role model…<hint><hint> :wally

You must be running in the 5th race at Santa Anita, because it is obvious that your blinders are already on.
