“AnalRapist” was just great. And the whole first ‘date’ with Rita (“Hey, that’s the name of the show” and Michael talking about men being distracted and then… getting distracted by Dave Thomas). The roofies stuff was great, especially when it was first pointed out to GOB that the forget-me-nots were actually roofies.
The part that I loved was that Michael’s family knocked out Rita and instead of trying to explain things, just left her drugged at a bus stop!! Too funny!
I didn’t think it was as good as the premier, but amusing none the less.
I loved the Wee Britain American restaurant – the server with the bad British-doing-American accent, the basket of donuts and the 64 oz cola to wash it down. I love how Michael kept mistaking Rita’s intentions to be standoffishness (strike 1, strike 2 when she had no bad intentions really). I cracked up every time I saw Tobias’s hair plugs. I died when GOB called George Michael a pothead and tried to beat him up after he insulted GOB’s son (a “dumb jock.”) Very good episode, nearly as good as the premiere. Also loved the transcript of Lindsey’s phone sex, her remark that the secretary was “very good” and Michael’s throwaway in reply to Linsdey’s asking if there was anything of value in the notes that “there was something on page 7 that they could sell” or something.
I loved Bob Loblaw’s commercial. Every time the camera cut and he turned he closed the same law book, three times. Chachi was pretty funny playing it completely straight. I think he may have a different type of incompetence. Mainly using up retainer money and sucking up more cash without doing a damned thing. His advice on not (nod) shredding the records was funny.
Buster’s reaction to Tobias’s card was also pretty funny. The back view of Tobias’s hair is also damned funny.
“It is a different pronounciation”
“It’s not the pronounciation that scares me”
“I’m gonna do your cousin tonight!”
I noticed that Dave Thomas was doing his Michael Caine voice.
The Balloons exploding instead of just popping was a nice surprise.
Oh by the way is there something I missed? What was the car fire Michael reffered to when he talked about saving the records?
I agree. The show, over the last two episodes, has felt rushed and a bit off.
Sure, there are great moments. Ron Howard is going to have a great moment each episode. (Usually, when a show or movie works the title into the dialogue, it is terribly cheesy. I was worried about that until he said, “Hey! That’s the name of the show!”)
And AD has managed to turn a second 80’s star I disliked into a very enjoyable character (the first was Jason Bateman, who I HATED and the second Scott Baio, who annoyed me).
That was great! I loved Buster in the background posing with the big boobs. I was dying!
I’m loving the Happy Days cast members getting parts on the show. Who’s next? Ralph, Potsie? Is Al still alive? He’s be great. Or if they want to go a little more obsure they could get Pinky or Leather Tuscadero and see if anyone recognizes them.
This past weekend they ran The Rocky Horror Picture Show with a live cast to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary. During the bit that goes: “Janet!” “Dr. Scott!” “Janet!” “Brad!” “Rocky!” (Rocky just glares, and the audience usually yells “Bullwinkle!”), instead of “Bullwinkle!”, people yelled “Steve Holt!”
George Michael, Maeby and Steve Holt should learn from Michael’s example and start disavowing their family now. Later in life they’ll be glad they did.
I wonder what Michael’s wife was like and whether he let her meet his family before they got married!
