That family sure does some weird things with names, don’t they? George Oscar Bluth Sr. has a twin brother named Oscar?
For the Flash-impared (or -phobic) it’s short for George Oscar Bluth.
D’oh! The one time I quick reply and don’t preview!
I just wish this show had that show’s ratings. This episode was darned funny. My favorite moment was when George Michael kisses Maebe . . . and the living room floor starts to cave in.
I told you it was against the law.
Oh man that was funny.
“I handcuffed him under the house, but then I realized the pipes aren’t connected to anything”
LOL!
Tobius with Kitty was pretty funny as well. Especially when both were showing their chests and Michael was like Get Me Out Of Here!
Though if they come back next season, I’ll miss all the Ann jokes… provided George Michael doesn’t go back to Ann in his shame over the kiss with Maeby.
I’ve grown to love Ann too, so I hope she’s around next season (I’m pretending there’s no way it won’t be renewed).
These last episodes were in a weird order, weren’t they? Ann seemed pretty rigid after excitedly thinking Michael had given her and GM permission to start doin’ it not long ago.
And also, “is that balls?”
This was really the finale. They probably edited some things to improve the continuity even though they were shot in a different order.
You know what I’m impressed by? If you watch, Jeffrey Tambor has a separate set of facial expressions for George Sr. and Oscar.
Very funny episode. Loved the whole George Michael reaction to the Forbidden Cousins thing (including owning the DVD).
Dick Van Patten, in the flash-back to a few weeks ago, quickly exclaims “They’re crooked!” when he sees Kitty’s boobies.
I loved how GOB talked about losing a brother when he accidentally bleached Franklin. And when Franklin came out of the watch, he spoke with an English accent.
“At least now you can take him to lunch at the club.”
That’s the kind of joke Franklin would have loved (sob).
I liked when the narrator said that the Dangerous Cousins remake lamely implied that the cousins may not be biologically related, then as soon as George Michael and Maebe kissed, he pointed out that they may not be biologically related.
The Arrested Development site doesn’t include any ambiguity about Oscar being Buster’s father. I guess we’ll have to wait 'til next year… ?
I liked that GOB’s CD was called “Franklin Comes Alive.”
lol… loved that too. And the almost instant quitting by the production guy at the studio. I guess Franklin said some things African-Americaney wasn’t ready to hear again.
They better renew this show, or I’m taking inspiration from Ann and picketing those bastards.
Did anyone else think that the studio production guy looked like Franklin?
I think I laughed the hardest at the end when GOB was singing to Michael. “Please don’t do this.”
A question about the episode: I didn’t quite understand the switch between George Sr. and Oscar. Did George switch with Oscar inside the jail? I wasn’t clear on that; if he pulled the switch beforehand, it doesn’t make any sense that Oscar would turn himself in in George’s place. Sorry if this sounds stupid, but something distracted me during that part of the show.
Another question: Now that season 2’s in the can, how long before the DVDs come out?
It doesn’t sound stupid, don’t worry. That part of the show wasn’t explained terribly well…
It looked more like George Sr. had stashed Oscar in in bathroom at the courthouse. Someone on TWoP pointed out that it explains why he told the family not to visit him in prison this time during his speech outside the courthouse - because of course Oscar would be able to convince them of what happened.
Regarding the DVDs, season one ended around the same time last year, and the DVDs came out when the next season began. Anyone remember when that was? Seems like October or November.
I didn’t understand the George Senior confession/switcheroo either. I need the DVD!
All my favourite parts were George Michael! He’s so cute, I wish he was my couzin. Especially when they got caught kissing and his voice went all high.
Dogs started to bark when he said that. So cute.
If this show doesn’t get renewed, I’m hoping the DVDs will have the Family Guy effect. Except that it’d probably be a lot harder to start production on a show like this after a few year hiatus as opposed to an animated show.
