According to this tweet from the New Yorker.
I just blue myself.
YARRrrrrrgh… beaten to the punch. exciting stuff though.

confirms with other tweets.
Steve Holt!
(Goooodddd, I hope this doesn’t suck…)
Oh boy…
Will it be awesome like season 1 or dreadful like every episode after “Motherboy”?
How? I thought they were doing a movie!!
Will Arnett’s on a new show, (might be cancelled by then)… but Ithink I would rather it be movie.
See, that was one show for me that never lost steam. I loved it from beginning to the very end.
I mean, if they want to tie it to the tv series fine, but I think it would do much better as a movie somewhat detached from it’s last run, and expand it’s audience.
I think the limited run series is a great way to expand their audience ahead of a movie release. Also gives them a chance to set up a bunch of story lines w/o forcing it all into the film.
Plus, there’s always money in the banana stand.
No touching!
I don’t agree… I could be wrong, and the whole thing could be a huge hit by now with people who saw it after the show ran, but if you ask me; Movie first, then series.
I’m just saying I think they need to win over people with a flick, (where other people in the audience get the jokes), for them to embrace it.
Wow. Color me skeptical, but hopeful. Please let this turn out to be true.
This has totally made my day - I love Arrested Development.
But then, I certainly have a type.
I think his new show was canceled due to crazy-bad ratings.
I tried to watch it once, but it was dreadful.
(I am talking about the show with the actress from Felicity; It seems like there is another new show that he’s in that I haven’t watched, but maybe it hasn’t started yet)
Finally, Will Arnett was apparently a big fan of the Grateful Dead’s music, and saw the band play over 50 shows over the years, making him one of the most hardcore celebrity Deadheads, along with the NBA’s Bill Walton and Phil Jackson, and of course the lovely Ann Coulter…
Hurwitz said that while writing the screenplay he wanted to tell the stories about what each character has been doing the last five years. Five minutes per character and suddenly half the movie is backstory… So the series will have one episode focused on each character’s story.
That’s “Up All Night,” which currently has the lowest rating in it’s timeslot for the Big Four networks (and is dropping each week), so I think Arnett will be free.
Another “disagree” here. The retarded wedding was the best episode of anything on TV ever.
I think I have seen promos for it with the woman who used to play the dumb, slutty daughter on “Married With Children”.
I’m so stoked to hear this.
My wife finally got around watching the show last week and she’s already finished with it. I’m so glad she’s caught up because it was getting awkward when “The Final Countown” would come on and she didn’t get why I wanted to start dancing. Or why I’d look at her serious and say, “There’s always money in the banana stand.”
