As promised: Monowheel challenge

As I promised in another thread, here are pictures of the outcome of the Monowheel Challenge. The Challenge started when my modeling friend, Mad Paul, looking for a way to get King of Greeblies out of a slump, tossed him a rubber off-road RC tire and challenged him to build a monowheel. I looked pathetic, and they let me in on the fun. In fact, I ended up building two monowheels, and Space Battleship Inafuku also dealt himself in. The big unveiling was this last Thursday at the Galaxy Hobby Sci-Fi Club meeting, and without further ado, here are pictures, courtesy of Space Battleship Inafuku:

Mad Paul’s (the shock absorber works)

Rocketeer’s second build (straight from the box, no mods, paint it and put it together)

Rocketeer’s Mittelgrosses Kriegsrad

King of Greeblies’ entry (he used a lot of leftover guns he had lying around)

Space Battleship Inafuku put together this little Dragonball monocycle.

Here’s a link to SBI’s Flickr album.

Amazing work. I’m impressed as always.

I love yours and Mad Paul’s.

Questions:

What world was your kit from?

How does Mad Paul’s driver get down form his seat? :stuck_out_tongue:

Aren’t some of those technically unicycles and not monowheels?
Impressive in any case.

Brian

I’m not sure whether your lass is unsure about how she ought to be driving her contraption, or if she knows exactly how to drive it.

I’m not sure what the girl on the blue monowheel is supposed to represent; the kit had a nondescript name: “Monowheel Girl” or some such. The Mittelgrosses Kriegsrad is based off half-remembered Blackhawk comics, but set in a prolonged Great War, not the Blackhawks’ WWII.

Paul’s driver alights, I’m sure , with a graceful vault; and mounts with an undignified clamber up the side of the machine.

I am so jealous. The Maddest of Skilz!
