Aside from sex, what physical sensation makes you feel good?

Getting my teeth cleaned. Love it. Sometimes the hygienist asks if she’s being too rough. I always say, “There’s no such thing as too rough. Dig in and scrape!”
On the same note, when you have a big chunk of food stuck in one of your back teeth and you’re nowhere near a toothpick or floss, you have to work on that bit of food with your tongue. The feeling when it finally loosens.
I agree with FoieGrasIsEvil, sleeping with a fan or window breeze on your face and white noise or a low volume tv with a boring station on.
I have a good memory as a child. Laying on my stomach on the carpet, elbows propped up holding my face watching cartoons. My mom doing laundry and coming up from downstairs with a basket of clothes freshly out of the dryer. If the house was a bit chilly (my dad was a stickler with the thermostat) she’d surprise my by dumping all the really warm clothes on me. Boy, it was a shock, but nice and toasty.
Or with the old timey canister vacuum cleaners, it blew out warm air and I’d lay next to it and follow it around the house while mom vacuumed to get the warm breeze on my face.
Man, what a weird kid I was.

I’ll just cover the stuff that’s not been mentioned. That uber relaxed feeling after a panic or anxiety attack is flipping amazing. Another is when I’m cold but don’t realize it, and then get right next to a warm heater. When my ears finally pop when they’s been stuck.

And, more traditional: a warm hug from someone I love. I have to admit, even when I’m attracted to someone, my first thoughts go to a big hug or cuddling, not anything more.

A back rub, back tickle. With fingers and nails. Slowly.

Getting a perfect score skeet shooting. Hearing the indoor range master say, “What do you want, a medal?” Making a 20 minute drive. In 5. Finding that some of the people who think they can drive the metal they owned spent too much time financing it & zero time learning how to drive it.

Also, being taken on 20 to 1 and collecting from Book with a smile.

Sure, I’m a bastard. And your point…?

The burn of spicy food.

The deep sinus burn from horseradish.

The cauterizing feeling of a cold coke when I have a sore throat.

Playing the piano when my fingers are completely in synch with my brain.

Sticking my foot out from under the covers into the cool air of the room.

Rubbing my hand across my husband’s hair.

Microfiber against my lips.

Another one, real quick: that feeling when you are really tired and finally get to lay down. It feels like my whole body is stretching and relaxing. It’s just so good.

Similarly, when I feel depressed or overwhelmed and have a cry, that little shard of hope and “it will be OK” feeling afterward.
