Okay… I’ve got my 4/4 shimmy down pretty well at slow speeds, but when I switch to double time, it quickly goes to a 6/8 and then falls apart completely… any tips?
Know any good sites for learning drum rhythms?

“I never meant to hurt you,” you said,
And buried yourself in lies instead.
Next time I would rather be slain,
Than forced to bear your mercy again.
Are you REALLY a bellydancer?

Here’s a good drum rhythm page: http://www.maya.com/local/senn/rhythm.html
Best advice I have on your shimmies is to concentrate on how the shimmy feels, instead of what you are doing. If it doesn’t feel right, make the movement smaller, until you can get the right feel. Then you can work back up to a larger movement. Also (as if you hadn’t heard this before) bend your knees. The more bent your knees are, the more you can move your hips.
