Ask the convicted felon.

Moderator’s Note: Although this has the potential to turn into a debate or debates about prison reform, morality, etc., it doesn’t seem to have done so so far, so I’m moving it to IMHO for now.

Do you think your sentence was fair? If not, what do you think should’ve been done in your case?

What’s a towel party?

If a towel party is anything like a blanket party, it’s not one of those fun kind of parties. In the middle of the night, one guy throws a towell over you while you are sleeping and then a bunch of guys beat the ever loving shit out of you. Since you’re covered by the blanket, you can’t identify anyone.

It was almost impossible for me to get employment.
However, most questions on applications ask if you have bene convicted in the last 7 or 10 years.
Now I am in the clear, as mine was 12 years ago.

StG: I’m undecided on weather my sentence was fair. On one hand, I deserved to be punshed–I did a very bad thing–and I don’t think I most of the people there would have learned their lesson from my sentence, and everyone has to be treated the same. On the other hand, She got all her stuff back and than some, and I had learned my lesson a month into it. I don’t think I can be objective enough to give a definate answer to your question.

Towel Party=Blanket Party. The weapon of choice in such an event is a lock in a sock, and the blanket is to immobilize you–the towel is stretched over your face to blind you.

vanilla: How did you get by until enough time had passed to get a good job?

My father supported me.
What do you mean get a good job?
I’ve been unemployed for 4 years.
The last job I had was an at home telemarketer which paid commission only.
I’ve had no income for 4 years.
