My favorite character?Gee that would be hard to choose, they are all so great. I would have to say definately though it would be Mr.Bumpy from Bump in the Night. I LOVED that show and was distraught when they cancelled it.
Oh and Esp…thanks for joining the party!w00t!Always glad to have a fellow Disneyite on board.

OKay you have missed one death. I don’t have a cite, but I know for sure about it becuase I was at the park the day before it happend. It happened approx 2 years ago at WDW. A man was killed on splash mountian. He decieded to try and get off and the log behind him hit him and he died.

That’s not something I’ve heard of,swingchick but find me a cite and I’ll check it out.
The best place I’ve found for cites on that sort of thing is actually a website that keeps track of all themepark accidents and accepts reports of possible accidents at themeparks as well.

Here ya go

I believe that accident is what caused the retrofit of the logs when they went down for their maintenance last fall.

Uhm, I think it was because the guy got out of the ride!

(1) You got James Algar. I’m impressed.

(2) That’s a really good list, but there are a few you missed: John Huston (The Black Cauldron), Mel Gibson (Pocahontas), Stevie Wonder (Mulan), Kevin Spacey (A Bug’s Life), Phil Collins (Tarzan), and Leopold Stokowski & Quincy Jones (both from Fantasia 2000). This was a small trick question because I said “included the voice of an Oscar-winner”, meaning any Oscar (not just for acting) and any voice (not just as a character).

(3) This one you missed. Bambi was the first, followed by The Three Caballeros, Saludos Amigos, and Sleeping Beauty. All were nominated for Sound Recording (as was B&tB decades later).

Not too shabby overall–B+!

AH sorry, I misread:smack:

5) What’s with the stories about massive animal deaths during the establishment of the “Animal Kingdom” park?
I don’t know for sure. I’m sure that as with any startup with an animal park, there were a few animals that due to the stress didn’t survive. But the animals there are now alive and healthy as can be and AK is a great park in the making. I say ‘in the making’ because I don’t feel as though it’s quite finished yet. When I last visited, the new carnivaly section of Dinoland,USA(Chester and Hester’s Din-O-Rama)wasn’t yet completed. I’ve seen the park in two stages of evolution…from the first when the gates opened and now with the more involved and better developed Harambe Village,Anandapur,Camp Minnie-Mickey(although why Minnie gets top billing on this I don’t quite understand.Mickey was always the star from the first…:frowning: )and my favorite Rafiki’s Planetwatch(formerly Conservation Station).

Hijack: When I first read about these, I was rather peeved, but apparently, despite the number of deaths, the mortality rate was LOWER than that of other zoos/animal parks. I present the following:

Swingchick–thanks for the cite! Again, another death at Disney due to somebody doing something incredibly stupid. Had he not tried to exit mid-ride,he wouldn’t have been killed.:frowning:
Llamapoet–thanks for the cite!I knew that there had been some start-up casualties but was unaware as to what the actual casualties were. Thanks for the info.
