How was the salmon fly hatch this year?
Are they still going to mine gold on the Blackfoot?
Are there still mosquitos at Mosquito Creek?
WHICH salmonfly hatch? Heard the Madison was good and Rock Creek was excellent. I’ve been around long enough that I tend to avoid some of the rivers when I can see more than one person in any direction. Been on the Missouri below Holter lately?
This thread could quickly move to the BBQ Pit on the subject of overcrowding or out-of-stater courtesy on rivers (sucks) or the certain days banning of out-of-staters and outfitters on the Big Hole and Beaverhead (it’s a start).
The Blackfoot gold mine is dead, for now. I go to an annual conference where there are booths for a couple of mining companies. I always take a few minutes to stand by the booth and cough “Berkely Pit”.
Mosquitos? Yes, unless it’s been drained and built on.
Any opinions on Rancho Deluxe?
It’s been far too long since I’ve seen it. Maybe I’ll add it to my Christmas movie list.
Some friends and I got a laugh out of a lo-budget movie that came out a few years ago and was set in Montana. At one point, the characters were in the middle of nowhere and came across a sign that said:
“Billings 60 miles
Great Falls 230 miles
Missoula 43 miles
Sidney 12 miles”
or something like that.
