Dan, I wasn’t necessarily speaking of your comment that joke threads belong in this forum - that’s correct and unassailable; it’s also good advice I have no objections to members offering advice on where certain types of threads are best placed. It was more that you seemed to be giving an imprimatur of approval over this specific thread; the first portion of your statment. It is entirely possible that this be a joke thread and it still not be “okay.” In that case, the forum in which it properly belongs, would be of no import.

At the time it happened, a few people I knew at school posted on the boards, too. They all offered condolences. I can’t remember how long I stayed banned, I think it was on the order of two weeks.
And Chavardz - not really but kinda. I definitely make a much bigger effort now not to post anything that would anger the mods, as I know I’m perpetually on somewhat thin ice. For example, I’m kinda worried about posting this, but I can’t see anything disrespectful. I will also say that it did warm my heart a little to see a thread posted in defense of me in The Pit. Nice to know that someone out there’s actually enjoying what I contribute around here, lord knows that I enjoy what all of you put in.

Now ya see? That, right there, is why I might have misgivings about a thread such as this. The likelihood of it devolving into unflattering characteristics of members. That’s the kinda thing that I won’t tolerate much of in this forum.
