I always took the term “amateur” in porn to mean something along the lines of “more regular looking girls” as opposed to “models”. I think that some guys get turned on by that because the fantasy of being with the “girl next door” is a more attainable one than fucking Pamela Anderson.

Even in jurisdictions where prostitution is legal, pimping is usually criminal. It would be very surprising if pimping were not criminal in Mike South’s area.
If Mike South receives money from John in exchange for John being able to have sex with a woman who follows Mike South’s directions to have sex with John, that is pimping. Making it a raffle doesn’t change the nature of the transaction. Making it a raffle paying members are entered into without having to pay an additional charge doesn’t change the nature of the transaction.
And then there’s the community standard Mike South mentions. The cops/DA could make the case that any indirect exchange of money for sex is against community standards.
