When Secretary Clinton and former Secretary Rice get together to talk shop, sometimes they put away too much Opolo Mountain red, and end up in bed together. Why are you hiding this true and heart wearming instance of cross party cooperation from the public at large?
When the actual White House Press Secretary is giving answers to press questions that are more entertaining than what we are seeing here, yes, the thread is a little odd. Gingrich zing!
My question.
Gas has risen 75 cents a gallon in the last 2 1/2 months in Southern California. Will Pres. Obama offer gas stamps (similar to food stamps) for us needy folk who can’t afford gas for our Hummers and large V8 SUVs any longer?
I’d have to check with the Dept. of Energy on that, but I highly doubt it. The President is committed to energy independence for the U.S., and supports the development of new energy resources while encouraging Americans to use more fuel-efficient vehicles. “Hummers and large V8 SUVs” aren’t, I think it’s fair to say, quite what he has in mind.
How are you going to put a stop to the usual GOP voter suppression, intimidation, ID checks, “caging lists,” voter-roll purges, etc., this time around?
The President is commited to seeing that everyone who is eligible to vote is able to actually cast a vote, and that every valid vote cast is actually counted. We’re working closely with the Democratic National Committee and state Democratic parties to ensure that the 2012 election is free, fair and open. And, as in 2008, we’ll have an extensive field operation to protect the ballot and ensure that the will of the American people is reflected in the election results.
No. It’s a policy in search of a problem, and will very likely have a disproportionate impact upon young, elderly and poor voters - many of whom tend to be Democratic. The Attorney General is on the case: Attorney General Holder Showdown on Voting Rights Law - ABC News
