Your OP stated with some ignorant and factually erroneous statements that I attempted to correct. But instead of simply stating that you were trolling you instead decided to try to defend your ignorance. On the SDMD.
And then to top it all off your response to that is "I gotta tell you: having Blake show up and take it all seriously, deconstructing my and spoke-'s posts like a prosecuter was like frosting on the cake, man. Hilarious.

You are so fucking dumb that you admitted to breaking two major rules in one thread. And then then you repeat the very same personal insult you were specifically warned about in your previous post.
The Mods have been notified. We’ll see if they find your behaviour amusing. I personally hope you don’t get banned. You occasionally contribute worthwhile material. But since you are so brain-dead as to engage in this sort of behaviour I won’t be surprised to see you go.
And of course Treis you are no better. Your comment that “Nobody gives a shit” that Nemo’s staments were factually incorrect and showed a gross misunderstanding of evolutionary science are the very antithesis of fighting ignorance.

Nonetheless the original thread has been locked and the perpetrator warned. I think that makes it pretty clear that most people on these borads do still care that ignorant and erroneous material is presented as fact.
I just got around to reading the thread. I think askia may have started it in response to an exchange he and I had in this thread, in which we disagreed about ethics. He said “ethical” is purely a legal term, I maintain ethics is more than what the law defines as right and wrong. So I don’t think he was necessarily trolling.
Ummm… a seemingly serious but class clownish at heart post is started in GQ. Blake starts up the big ignorance smackdown machine and this delights the clowns who start nipping at him. Blake blows his top and a good time is had by all. What else is new.
**Blake **did seem a little disporportionately worked up in that thread, but **Askia **was WAY annoying, not reading anyone’s posts and misquoting himself constantly (but I *said *blah blah blah…no…dude, you didn’t. We can all read what you wrote, shithead!) His overall tone came off as that of the mean older brother dangling your favorite toy over a steaming pile of shit, holding you at arm’s length by the forehead and laughing while tears are streaming down your face. Perhaps hysterics were not warranted in the long run, but the callous dickitude of the older brother was by far the worser crime.
But the thing that really chaps my hide is that it was ***Askia ***doing this. He’s generally a great guy, so this example of dickitude was all the more irritating. If these were people I knew in real life, I’d feel betrayed and lose a lot of respect for **Askia **for behaving like this. Since it’s a message board, I’ll get over it pretty quickly. But I think I’ll refrain from posting in Askia’a OPs for a while, including the more sensible one he started today that actually asks the question he wanted answered in the first place, without resorting to brutal theatrics designed only to get a rise out of people.
I wouldn’t call for bannination for this, but if it continues, it merits at least a cooling off suspension.
That thread was not Askia’s finest moment; needed a bit more finesse to show it as a continuation/issues with a previous thread. I didn’t see it at all, was reading the thread cold, so saw Blake’s posts as fine response at first. Got the gist of it about halfway through, especially with the motherwit reference.
So, as a bystander; Blake, I know you put your good mind to work in that effort, and had many astute observances, but, hope you can cool down a bit over it.
Askia: It was an obscure post, and not as cohesive as most by you. Since “Motherwit” was an anchor term there, one I understand, but not by most, could you give a fine definition of it? I did a web lookabout, but none were really as expansive as it deserves; basically: “common sense”, but Motherwit means more as I know it, and I’m sure you can put it better than I can.
It’s an aside to what you were doing with that post, but worthwhile explaination, I think.
Overall, I hope that GD post doesn’t harm Askia here. Seems a small trespass of boundaries.
