Assasin bug info please

I can’t seem to find much info on why they’re called assasin bugs , or their habits.
I have found 6 or 7 in my house in the last week or so, and wonder if I should ignore them or what.
Till then, I’m sorry to have to ax them.

Thanks y’all.

Which type of Assassin bug? http://ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/2000/2082.html

Name explained: http://www.insects.org/entophiles/hemiptera/hemi_009.html

In Texas and the southwest, these are called “Conenose” bugs or beetles. You might try searching on that. Examples:

P.S., they suck.
