The 1/5 Band would consist of
Marilyn Manson, vocals
Bryan Hitt, drums
Phil Joel, bass
Matt Wachter, guitar/keyboards
Chris Stein, guitar
They could prolly come up with something.

April 13th:
Bass: Jack Cassiday (Jefferson Airplane)
Drummer: Max Weinberg
Vocalist: Al Green
Guitarist: Hilliel Slovak (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
Band Manager: Lyle Waggoner (sparkle glints on teeth…)
I think that gives me a pretty damn tight crew, almost super-group quality
Having heard some of Duane’s very few recorded vocals, I’d reconsider that particular assignment.
Also, couldn’t you at least have given Bo Derek a tambourine to rattle onstage? Give her some token respectability.
My birthday is June 10. The only musical person born on that date, to my knowledge, is Judy Garland.
Petula Clark
C W McCall
Anni-Frid Lyngstad
Rick Kemp
Daniel Barenboim
What a weird group. Vocals should be fab though.
The March 24 band:
Nick Lowe (guitar, vocals)
Sharon Corr (vocals, violin)
Carol Kaye (of The Wrecking Crew, bass)
I lack a drummer, and a keyboardist.
That would be an alt rock supergroup. I would love to see that band.
31 of Aug
Debbie Gibson and Van Morrison sharing Vocals
Del Marquis of Scissor Sisters on Keyboard
Rudolph Schenker of Scorpions on Guitar
Bob Welch from Fleetwood Mac on Bass
and
Gina Schock from the Go Gos on Drums
Fun!
August 24. Pretty shitty for musicians.
I’ll try, though:
Andreas Kisser, who wrote songs and guitar music (or played guitar? can’t tell) for Sepultura…
John Cowan–played bass and sang backup for the Doobie Brothers in the 90s (whatever remained of them)
Ken Hensley–lead guitar (I think) for Uriah Heap.
And a shout-out to Dave Chappelle, who I share a birthday with. Maybe he could do some faux-Prince lyricism over this classic/prog-rock mess.
I would pay about $2,300 for a single 90-minute performance of this ensemble, but only if Burton contributed to the vocals too.
If I can borrow an annoying catchphrase, this is almost a perfect storm…of bedspin psychosis.
Just to see Robert and Janet on the same stage, doing what comes naturally.
Huh…Not one single, fucking interesting musician of note (ha! get it?) on my b-day.
not ONE.

November 16 checkin in
(I always used to be pissed at that day cause it seemed like no one else had it but I’m glad I did the research)
This is a historically hot band:
WC Handy (Father of The Blues) Band Leader
Jesse Stone (RR Pioneer) Piano
Garnet Mimms (Cry Baby) Singer
Hubert Sumlin (Howlin Wolf), Teenie Hodges (Al Green) Dual Lead G
Dan Penn (Dark End of the Street) Rth Gtr BG Vox
Francis Clay (Muddy Waters) Drums
Mani (Stone Roses) Bass
Eddie Condon (Godfather/Inspiration) Guitar
Those are all June 10? I didn’t know that…
Did you google it like we all did? I put my birthday in and famous and voilà; instant crazy band.
July 10:
Ronnie Dio
Arlo Guthrie
Jessica Simpson
Uh…
By the way…
Did anybody else think that the last line of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” is
“Ronnie Dio, Ronnie Dio, Ronnie Dio…”
Now THAT’s a good idea…
Thanks.
This will help for those of you who are still stuck.
What a fun thread!
I think my March 6 band is interesting, at least top notch, though it’s quite an unusual instrumentation (well, I’m going to see a free jazz trombone/accordion duo at a vernissage on Saturday (don’t ask :)), so don’t rule anything out):
Bob Wills - leader and violin
David Gilmour - guitar, vocals
Wes Montgomery - guitar
Kiki Dee - vocals
I’d rather hear Gilmour, Montgomery and Wills trading licks than see the free jazz duo, that’s for sure.
Billy Holiday took the stage…
…and when she dropped the mike afterward, Ravi Shankar took the rest of the night off…
(From that site)
Pete Best, Indian drummer for The Beatles, (circa 1960-1962), turns 75.
ate: ok, he was born in India. But still.
