Assexual Starfish Reproduction Age Question

Now it’s my understanding that if a starfish (or sea star or whatever they are technically called) breaks off a piece of itself, it can regrow that piece. And the piece MAY be able to grow into a new starfish, provided there is enough of the “central region” of that starfish attached to the broken off part

(make sense )

I could be wrong so correct me or use better language to make it clearer. Thanks

If this is basically correct, here is my question

On a cellular level is this a “new starfish”? I mean let’s say this starfish is five years old. Then it breaks and forms into two starfish.

This is my main question, would each of the starfish be five years old, from a cellular point of view?

I hope this makes sense

Thanks
