I assure you, making the ASVAB your bitch in no way implies you have a useful mind. I’ll stand as exhibit A.

End of quiz…
for being a girl I think I did pretty good, better than average at least!
I took the ASVAB back in the 90’s and pulled a 99, but the recruiter couldn’t get me the MOS I wanted so I didn’t go that route. I had only a passing interest so it wasn’t that big a deal to walk away, though I do sometimes wonder what I would be doing today if I had been a little more willing to try a different field or service. As others said earlier, the ASVAB wasn’t exactly a Mensa exam.
My results, quite a bit different test that I remember taking.

Not as bad as I expected being 30 years since I stepped into a physics class.
That Mechanical Comprehension is a killer.

Oh, this has been bugging me. WildBlueYonder - For a girl? Really?? I’m sorry, I’m a 57 year old woman, but I don’t think my score should be lower because of my gender.

Now I want to take it…is there a point adjustment considered per beer consumed prior?
I still have my results from ‘74. When I get an hour or so, I’ll take the practice test, and report the results.
One thing that will cloud the results is that my old results were reported 4 ways - a raw score and percentiles for national results, for my grade (senior year), and for grade and sex (male). It doesn’t include how many questions were asked for each section, so no way to to figure percent correct. Also, there were only 9 parts back in the day - coding speed, word knowledge, arithmetic reasoning, tool knowledge, space perception, mechanical compression, shop information, automotive information, and electronic information. They then boiled those scores down to different composition aptitudes by percentile -electrical, motor mechanical, general mechanical, clerical/administrative, and general technical.

99th percentile with a 144 GT. Good enough for the infantry!
Bear_Nenno, Darth Sensative - Impressive!
It was a fun test, right?

I know I know
I would be the first to point myself out…I figured the previous posts were all male so I was comparing myself to them.
I was surprised I got as many as I did, above average…
Sorry if I offended
You said it!! :eek::eek:
That’s for the real ASVAB though, right?
Yes.
This makes you uniquely qualified to be infantry in the army or perhaps a rifleman in the marines:D.
Of course the ASVAB is easy to “pass”, it’s an aptitude test more than anything else, when I took it prior to enlisting, I cheated, I went to the local library and studied older versions (up to and including the most recent outdated version) it. I too could have gone into any specialty I wanted.
That test is sort of bad to be honest.

So, for those that have taken the real test adn the one that I posted, how close are they in terms of difficulty?
StG
At one time Mensa accepted the GT score as a qualifying exam. I think 135 on the GT got you the 98th percentile required.
Completely different tests. The official one when I took it had a couple of speed sections. The mechanics and electrical stuff wasn’t so specific or inaccurate. Maybe there is a newer ASVAB that this test emulates because it’s not similar to the old one.
Missed the edit window but I found a reference that said 136 was the Mensa qualifying score but only if taken before December of 1980.
