What's your SAT Score?

What’s your SAT Score?

I took it several times, thanks to my perfectionist mother, but on my best day I got 800 reading, 800 writing, and 680 math.

Graduated from high school in 1977. 680 verbal, 740 math, for a total of 1420.

One zillion.

1590 out of 1600, back in the day. Opened a lot of doors for me.

I should have gone through one of them.:smack:

My school took the ACT.

I only took the ACT as well. Here is a concordance table that will give you an approximation of what a comparable SAT score would be based on how you did on the ACT.

Compare ACT and SAT Scores

Never took it, or the ACT.

I started out at a small satellite campus for the state university. They only required a high school diploma (or a GED). After getting a good GPA I transferred to the flagship university and got my degree.

I beat the system.

Took it twice around 1980:

Best verbal: 670
Best math: 690

Total: 1360

I remember 1490, but I cannot recall the split. Taken in 1978.

Oh, that’s COMBINED. Um, rather better than I selected. Or deserved. Y’see, my first school was a test site for the folks who developed those electronically-scored [del]games[/del] tests so I knew what a No. 2 pencil was and how to play Multiple Choice for Fun and Profit from the first grade, long before many of my contemporaries.

1530/1600 (760 math, 770 verbal). If you throw in the SATII–Writing (which basically is what became the third part of the test, and which I took), then 2330 out of 2400.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much of a job market for professional test takers.

I am impressed by all the folks that remember their score after many decades. I haven’t a clue what my score was. It wasn’t a bad score. I remember my advisor was happy for me. Clearly it wasn’t anything that impressed on me though.

You forgot the faux modesty.

“I scored one zillion. I still can’t parallel park or bake a decent pan of cookies though, so, so much for SATs!”

Same total here – 740 verbal, 750 math. 1984.

I took it once: 720 Math, 580 Verbal in 1992. 31 on the ACT. Was enough to get into my school of choice.

570:M
670:V

Taken 1997.

Graduated in 1965. Don’t remember if I ever took either the SAT or ACT.

Weird, I only got a 1200-something on my SATs, but got a 36 (which is perfect like an old SAT 1600 according to your link) on my ACTs. Funny, I never knew how high I actually scored on those.

Never took it.

I was, however, admitted to two of Canada’s best universities, and have a degree from each of them.
